Are they in hard suits? I didn't notice..
I don't think they are..

Yes they are man...check again, Sakurai is even wearing his school clothes under the Hard Suit.
Oku simply doesn't draw them when the characters are talking but it's implied.
Scan is out folks, enjoy it.
Thanks to mote for translating the chapter!

Expect a second version with a way better quality in the following days.
Thanks for your support.
Is it me or are the zaibutsu people a pretty good depiction of a thoroughly incompetent corporation?
Shouldn't they, yknow, train the pilots of their ultimate weapons so they...well....fight ****ing back?
Not really much time for training at this point, they have to strike fast.
What's the matter with Kei? He's always sobbing like and infant who's injured himself, with tears streaming down his face and snot leaking from his nostrils. I understand he's upset but what I don't understand is why Oku chooses to illustrate him like that.
But that's the thing, they're a super secret mega conglomerate of the worlds most powerful people
Couldn't they have trained a group of people to use them beforehand
"Herpdederp, let's put our surprise our conscripted soldiers by dumping them in giant mechs without any idea of how to use them"
They'd be doing so much better if they actually trained the people that they conscripted to defend the earth
When they did the first raid on the giants almost everyone freaked out and only a small % of them fought
Would that happen if they used people that knew what the hell was happening?
5 minutes to practice. Seriously.
Better than just "lol here you go fuckers, don't die".
Man I don't know why kei was crying it's the same as always fight to live another day otherwise die crying
You might think that this is an insanely stupid move from the zaibutsu in a string of stupid moves
But they're playing the part of sinister corporation to a "T"
They're big on malevolence, abusing people...but competent management and sane ideas? Not so much.
Would our business and political leaders be dumb enough to do the same things as the zaibutsu people? Yea, probably :P
The Mech don't seem that hard to operate, i'm guessing that they follow how you move in the hard suit.
And yes they seem to be the same as the Oka one. But there's a scale problem here (size of a Giant, size of a human, size of a Mech).
As for the Zaibatsu training thing it's not useful, anyone still alive at this point is a decent "gantzer".
These robots seem pretty similar to Oka's, although much bigger.
I want to see someone use the flying bike.
Strange that this is "the final mission", and even stranger that the zaibatsu only have about 10 recruits left.
Lol @ Nishi: "Why couldn't I go too!!" As if he ever expected the zaibatsu to send him of all people... I still want to know what the hell he's up to btw.
@GAT-X252: You're right, they are in hard suits... I just thought it was an extremely odd way to portray Kei and Cherry. When it shows a close up of them it doesn't look even remotely as though they are in the hard suits. You can see buildings and stuff in the distance, even though they're supposed to be in the bikes, in a hangar at the top of the robot.

@silent_ninja_man:Yeah it doesn't seem particularly difficult to start moving/swinging arms. Though you'd think it would take a bit of practice to actually hit anything.

How long til the giants figure out the weakpoint? As in throwing lightning bolts or whatever directly at the fully exposed driver?
Kurono is wearing the hard suit helmet and when that helmet connected to the robot, the vision field becomes a first person view of what the robot "sees".
I wonder if the controls of the robot are on the flying bike, the arms of the hard suit or if Kurono can move it with his mind since the helmet is now connected to the robot.
I thought the Giants had Gantz completely hacked (bomber alien suicide shipment) and its technology decrypted ? After the first attack by the Zaibatsu group the next logical step would be to put some kind of firewall to block any other intrusion.
I want to know if the american attack Nishi got a glimpse of is the same as this one. I doubt it because mass producing those mech took a long time.
Those mech are bigger than the Centauri one and the bipedal with canon arms of the Giants ?

i hardly saw what was happening on page18... even thought that Kei ejected with the flying bike (becaus on the head part i see an open place) ... but then i realized that the thundering things are the enemy ships alright
Definetly have to see this chapter in color.
overall a great chapter! love the things where we are heading.. Sakurai appears again, end even gets a hard suit, and so does also Kei1 !
Had to read the chapter twice to fully understand what was the character's field of vision. I guess the helmet's visor is transparent from the inside.
Assuming the tower is a weak point of the ship, maybe it's a suicide run? Could explain why the Zaibatsu are using less than informed recruits for the job. Looks like Kei finally got a hard suit at least. If this doesn't get Gund's attention, nothing will.
I hope this isn't the final charge of the series though. Still a lot of questions I'd like to see answered.
