It's the Arc with the musicians so no worries there, I'm pretty sure it will rank way better when the election Arc starts. It's always a up and down for Medaka, I'm used to that and thus even more happy when it ranks good/great (like 4th or 5th)

The 3 colour page chapters aren't even ranked yet so there's no need for bashing.

Obviously color pages are the only thing standing between Medaka and immediate cancellation. Strong sales, a high profile author, and brand new anime clearly have nothing to do with Medaka remaining a part of the magazine.

and the fact that there are several series ending and a lot nearing its end have also nothing to do with keeping it.

Magico is..surprising. I never expected it to come this far. Granted, I've never read it past 15 chapters or so but it was really cliche.
Then again, its art is pretty good and the execution was far from the worst. I won't be surprised if it gets an anime down the year, I think Magico
is slowly confirming its stay but we never know, looking at Nura.

And lol Bleach, the first chapter of the new arc ranked it number 10? That's pretty sad but I can see why they feel that way.

Most Magico fans on 2ch were really positive about the series and was hoping that it was going to get an anime. That was until the new story arc started a couple of chapters ago and has seemed to have pretty much pissed off everybody, with the exception of NTR lovers.

I like NTRs, but it still pisses me off 'cuz Raven looks like a woman. It's turning Yuri, not NTR, for me

BTW, nice avatar Zeltrax. A fellow gamer I see

Bakuman is coming to end of series. That was fast. Are they take break before new series incoming? what about Death Note II?

What is fast about four years? Only in the silly, small little world of Jump could four years and 20 volumes be considered fast

Hard to say how long before there is a new Obata series. He began Blue Dragon less than a year after Death Note ended, Bakuman began about a year after Blue Dragon was canceled. Hopefully Obata writes some more one shots before he starts a new series. Hello Baby and Ourboros were spectacular, in my opinion. I actually liked Hello Baby more than Bakuman.

God help us all if there is ever a Death Note sequel. Obata is to good to do something that banal. He was successful before Death Note, he has been successful since. He does not need to return to past glory to find new success.

Well, I think Obata needs to find a good story author or work with person he already know before he going to make a new work.

Personally I think Obata and Ohba should team up again. The two work well together, and their works tend to be different and fall outside the norm when compared to other Jump manga.

Why would you think finding an author is a challenge for him? It's not like Obata is a new mangaka, he debuted almost 30 years ago. His first serialization is almost 25 years old. Between his assistants and his assistants assistants he has arguably had a bigger impact on Jump than even Toriyama. He has worked with many authors over the years, Bakuman was the first time he worked with the same author twice. In the last ten years he has never gone much longer than a year between serializations. So no, finding an author is probably not a factor in when he returns. There is every reason to believe he'll return quickly, he usually does.
