ST&RS sold less than 13.000 copies, now the axe is sure, imho with Magico and two new series will start probabily in issue 9 and 10..

And I hope the Mago's color page is for a third season! **

And not having a pattern it's a hint that the series with cover but no color page is ranked, as we can see that a series with the cover is usually around the place that its been placed in previous weeks (D.Gray-man in the fourth link is a loud example of it).
Exactly. So the most logical conclusion is - Gintama is 2nd in this week's ranking.

Anedoki was cancelled 1-2 weeks after the first volume was released due to low rankings in the questionnaire polls.

And the funny thing is that not a single volume from a series after Anedoki has sold better than it did, which just sums up how awful new series in Jump have been doing the last few years.... Harisugawa though may be the one to finally do it and even that isn't exactly a ratings darling atm.

Maybe Jump readers are just sick of all these new series that are being thrown at them so they're just skipping over them in the mag so thus not voting for them, and Jump itself seems to be pumping out the new series until it can find an instant hit, lol when will this madness end?! xD

    Jump Issue #08 Preview

    Cover/Lead CP: Sket Dance
Center Colour: Reborn!, Nurarihyon no Mago, Doppeler (Oneshot, 47 pages)
    Absent - Bleach

    - Jump Issue #09 and #10 will also contain oneshots

    - It is extremely likely that new series will begin on Issue #12

I think it's more likely that there are too many popular series in WSJ. I mean, look at Nurarihyon. Its performance is terrible because there are too many popular new series and not enough unpopular new series to give it a buffer. Jump is in a difficult situation, because cutting Nura would be a great loss, but they can't justify cutting any of the new series either.

So right now they're pimping Nura with color pages. They tend to throw color pages at series that are performing poorly because they think that it will somehow fix things. ST&RS will probably be their sacrificial lamb to save Nura until some new series pop up. But we'll be in trouble again if the new series are actually good.

Eh at least in a couple of years this will be fixed for them. Naruto is definitely going to end within 100 chapters IMO, and Bleach is likely on it's last leg as well. As for now who knows. By the looks of it even Beelzebub or Medaka Box could face a termination before that time arrives...

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

    Hello!

I have just a couple questions about 2ch. How did this site become so important for indicating a series popularity? Which is more important to Shonen Jump a series rankings in their magazine or popularity on 2ch?

I simply wanted to know more about 2ch and Shonen Jump.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

It's probably a ritual in Shonen Jump to curse 2ch every morning... This is the source of all the spoilers and most of the members probably don't buy the magazine. Also it was said that the 2ch community is not really representative of the Jump reader so it would not make sense for Shonen Jump to follow their rankings.

I'm curious about Pakki, the first comments suggested it would be an immediate bottom dweller but it seems to have done better since. Next issue is its first ranking, am I right ?
