Spoiler: Chapter 36: Three Keys
show
Chapter cover has Onodera and Ruri eating desserts (while in their disguise). Side text: "When you get tired from chasing your love, have some dessert to recharge yourself ♪"
So from last chapter Raku remembers getting along with a girl who spoke the same way Tachibana did. That girl was also weak, just like Tachi's. Flashback. Tachibana says they first met 10 years ago in Summer. Her body was always weak, so her father took her to the countryside. She was always in bed. Until she met Raku who was climbing up a tree beside her house. o_O Because of her weak body, she seldom has a chance to play with other kids. So when Raku heard about it, he would visit her everyday and tell her interesting stuffs to cheer her up.
When her dad saw at the time that she likes him, he sees to it that they get engaged. And then chibi!Tachi asks what kinda girls do chibi!Raku like and he replies "um, girls who has normal girl values.....for example, long hair...". Because of that, Tachibana gave it her all to change herself to become a girl who would meet his expectations (in her case, the way she talks and growing out her hair). When that photo (of their little selves) was taken, it was when they seperated and was taken as a reminder to not forget about an important promise.
Flashback ends, and Tachibana doesn't mind if Raku doesn't remember exactly everything about her. She doesn't really mind, but in exchange, she wants him to remember more of the present her. And to take notice of the things she does that are all for him. She won't let him forget the now and after of her. Then she tricks him saying there's food on his cheek, pretends to get it off and pecks him on the cheek. :3
"And that shall be your unforgettable memory number one"
At school, Onodera and Chitoge are surprised when Raku tells them they all met 10 years ago. Of course, they don't have any recollections.
C: "Anyway...why is your face so red?" ["a flu?"]
R: "Huh?!...it's nothing..?!"
O: "But you know, when I first met Chitoge-chan, I had this strange feeling that we could become good friends?"
C: "Really!! I had the same feeling too!"
C: "Actually, how come you kept this from us for so long?"
R: "uhh...it was a matter of timing.."
"And now.." "..the.." "..problem is...the keys..?"
C: "So we all met with darling 10 years ago...and made some kind of promise and now carry a key...what's going on here?"
R: "How am I supposed to know, I only remember making a promise with one girl..."
"And speaking of that promise, I can't seem to remember what it was at all"
"Me too"
T: "Everybody doesn't seem to remember the contents of the promise?"
R: "Huh? You still remember it?"
T: "Well isn't it...obviously a promise of marriage?"
Everybody gets flustered....XD
Onodera and Chitoge can't imagine making such a promise.
Raku can't understand why there are three keys though, even if Tachi can't tell him, if she could just give them some sort of clue. Turns out Tachibana doesn't know about that. Actually, she was surprised too, didn't realize there would be other people out there holding on keys. The "truth" she spoke of is just how much she loves Raku-sama and the promise they made with each other. She only knows about her own promise.
Chitoge wonders if there's only one real key and the others are fake or something. Onodera thinks they'll have to wait for Raku's pendant to get fixed to know. But Tachi reckons if they just think this carefully, they'll know who is better suited to Raku the most. Cue ensuing commotion of who is best and a bit of humour. At the end, Raku thinks to himself when he thought he'd finally get a clue, in truth he hasn't made any new progress at all again.
"One of these three girls is apparently the girl I made the promise to" "But the one I like at the moment is Onodera..."
Last page humorously has Tachibana do another one of her outbursts and the chapter ends. : D
