Honestly I like the idea of utilitarism, always trying to make the best while causing the minimum of bad to the others.
So phio what do you think of those guy who modified the Trypanossoma Cruzi protozoan to cure cancer? Have you heard about it? Would you try using a protozoan to cure a disease on people? Do you think it is safe?
That is... too much. But this is the first time I heard of using a microbe, a protozoa on top of everything, to cure cancer. After all, doesn't Trypanosoma caused the sleeping disease? I'm kind of afraid since genetically-modified things can induce a genetical modification which can cause cancer instead. :| If the scientists can prove its safety, then... *shrugs*
We should live in an egalitarian society that always work in a global perspective where everyone should be given equal opportunities - what they do with it is up to them
You dream of discovering a cure to cancer phio?
Yeah I know they are trying to make the world better but messing with protozoans like that can turn wrong and make things worse
To be honest, no, not really. My dream is actually working on a field not very popular here, for example chiropractic.
I was talking about ethics.
Something similar was also done here but to figth Aedes Aegypti the transmissor of Yellow fever. They modified some male mosquitos so that the females provenient from birth wouldn't be able to fly and then bite people. I think it is a nice idea but very few tests were made for them to have released these mosquitos so early into the enviroment.
There were two teams involved in the process they split up eventually and one of them acuses the team that released the mosquitos of being anti ethic. I just hope the experiment goes well

But I agree with the global perspective. The main problem against that is capitalism. I guess Capitalism is at it's limit someone will have to come up with a new idea soon or some serious problems will happen.
"This... this is madness!!"
"NO, THIS IS V3!"
so how are things going at your place Bronana?
Thing is that Capitalism is the best idea we have so far. It's not perfect, but it's the best we have. Until someone comes up with a new political theory that is proven to work better, western countries will always resort to free market trade and capitalism.
But if that could happen the greatest problem in capitalism which is speculation would be solved.
I mean what caused the 2008 crisis it wasn't simply that people could pay for their houses. the price was just too high to begin with.
Things like be no oil crisis could be solved etc.
Not that things should have their true value, that would mean no gain to producers, but an imparcial international organization that could control that would be a solution.
This...this is some heavy discussion.
I know nothing of social science. ONly of the impractical things such as math...imaginary numbers...and chemistry...
Maths and Chemestry are not impratical Baka
We live surrounded by them everyday, in fact every branch of the Human knowledge influences our lives nothing is futile or else we wouldn't learn them at school.
what i meant was that everything I know about is irrelevant to this discussion
Stuff like Economics and the social sciences will be more applicable here. But I never bothered.
Only social science I liked was law....
