    The Superhero Donor, Tiger Mask

Hey, I was just wondering how many of you guys and gals out there are Tiger Mask fans. Tiger Mask seems to be getting more and more popular these days. Another donation was made early November and the president of an film insulation company wore the mask while helping out quake victims last month.

I wrote about him at: http://www.mangatherapy.com/post/135...donor-analysis

Do you think Tiger Mask is reflecting the idea that Japanese society needs to be more like tigers (in terms of personality)? It will be interesting to see how the movie goes & how many more acts of goodwill will happen under the mask.

I heard about this story a while ago. Personally I don't think the anonymous donor(s) had the animal in mind but rather the character it was based on. They didn't choose today's popular heroes such as Naruto or Luffy for example. Instead, Tiger Mask might have been chosen to pinpoint a specific generation who grew up with the show.

To be honest though, I don't know anything about Tiger Mask so I can't pinpoint how these charitable acts link with the anime. It's also possible that the character could have similarities to an actual tiger.

Yeah, I do think the character is similar to a tiger in many ways. Stubborn and passionate.

I found it interesting that the donors didn't choose the modern-day heroes and chose a past hero, probably because of the mask and Tiger Mask's significance.

In the anime, Tiger Mask fought for children. I don't know how many people in Japan are willing to help children. Some people complain that not enough Japanese companies want to help kids. It seems like charity isn't the greatest thing to do there, as long as you do it anonymously.
