Yeah. I've wanted to read book 2 especially since it seems like that one was changed the most, but I'll start on book 1. But I think I'll take a break (small?) after aDwD. I've never read so many pages in such a short timespan before, and I'm not done yet

Nuno, whenever it is you're up to it, there is this new tv show you should try out called Anger Management. I suspect it'll soon rise to the challenge and become Gary's new top hated show.

(I'll try it out soon too )

No, it's not on CBS...so at worst I'll be indifferent to it

Haha...so Nuno just jumped in the books continuing the series?....it's the way to go...these noobs won't understand that....I mean why would I bother with the first book if I won't read Drogo tearing out the tongue of Mago?

Haha. Well I was not very interested in reading what, 1700 or so pages of content I knew the most important bits of. I'm the type interested in the continuation, and reading book 1 and 2 almost feels like "rereading" since the overall content has been portrayed in the show. Either way I had absolutely no problem picking up the third book as my first book of the series. There's things like names popping up frequently that you haven't caught in the show, and names that have been ditched from the show, but it didn't take long to get them all in place. I'm glad I didn't start on book 1.

    Jeez

I already said I will at a later time. Maybe in a week. Maybe in two. Maybe in a few months. Maybe the day after I finish aDwD. All I was saying was that WHEN I had seen season 2, I was in no mood to read 1700 pages of an overall more detailed version of the show with alterations before I could continue onwards with the story.

I know, and I think most would agree. I was talking with Scav because he was trying to pick it up at book 3 and after I mentioned all the things that are left out in the second book in particular he knew which was the right course . Thankfully I caught up after season 1, and despite having already read the first book I still read it and enjoyed the shit out of it. And this is a WEEK after the first season ended. Just saying'

Well the cool thing when you read the book after watching the serie is that you discover the real thought of the characters when they say their lines. Which gives you sometimes a different point of view when you watch the show (or parts of it) again.

    Exactly

The part of the book that isn't dealt with at all in the show is the dreams Ned has about Lyanna when he's in bed recovering from Jaime's attack. Pretty important stuff in my opinion.
