Whats the last thing that you baked or prepared?
Right now there's a vanilla, orange and rum sponge cake in the oven. My dad says the cake mix tastes good so it should be delicious when they're baked, and I'm going to use the same mix to make some little cup cakes as well.
Not so long ago, I was useless at baking cakes but now I'm the best at them!
This December break I've been in the kitchen quite a bit trying out new recipes for beancurd, spring rolls, Chinese dimsum, macaroons (which failed miserably), shortbread and most recently the above tiramisu cake for Christmas (if that wasn't obvious) Next up on the agenda for my baking buddies and I is try #2 at macaroons, a red velvet cake, and we're also planning to make pineapple tarts, which are traditional for the upcoming Chinese New Year
Right now I'm baking a loaf to try some new 'quick yeast', strong white and plain flour (3:2) and soy milk instead of water. Of course there's some salt and some vegetable oil and come sugar in it too, but there's sugar in the Alpro soy milk to feed the yeast.
my macarons recipe ? It's quite hard to fail this way and tastes just as good :-)
