This is the part I love the most of Fairy Tail: the beginning where everything looks great... I will enjoy...

There is no way Lamia Scale will lose! they have Madoka on the team! damn! (I was searching if no one did the joke and I am glad I took it)

So It was correct the fact that Raven Tail legalized but it will be too obvious if they were the ones Gerard spoke about.

I don't think so. It was mentioned that for the first time they are participating right, so this tournament been running for 7 years now. Unless Gerard n co. started to feel this weird evil I don't know what they wanna call it recently then you might be right about this one.

There is one posibility how Luxus might have been made a member of Raven Tail (though I hope it's not him).
When Raven Tail main members were shown with Ivan several chapters ago, I van was shown with something like a little paper puppet in his hand... So maybe his magic is related to puppeting? That's a way he might make someone his puppet.

most likely it will be what you said. Maybe controlling the Lachrima inside Luxus body. But no way Laxus would turn against Fairy Tail.

Hmm, that masked man could be Laxus's clone or something. Though the coat is the only indication we have right now.

If it's not Laxus's clone, then, I dunno who it is. I refuse to believe that it is the real Laxus.

That should be impossible. Magi has dissappeared from Edolas, so people from Edolas can no longer travel to Earthland.

I didn't say that they travelled to Earthland during the 7 years fairy tail were absent. People from Edolas no longer being able to travel to Earthland only means that it's possible that this guild could have been around before the Edolas arc, like Porlyusica. Knowing how coincidentally other Edolas characters have wound up over in Earthland, I can see the possibility of an entire guild doing the same. Especially with Mashima recently revealing Porlysica is from Edolas, it doesn't seem as though he wants to completely forget about it. Still, I personally don't want the manga to focus on Edolas again, but this guild being from there wouldn't necessarily mean that.

I vote for new guild to be the former baddies we have seen in previous arcs. Hope there will be that dude from Eisenwald.
I doubt that that girl with sexy lingerie and shroud from mermaids is kitty-girl from tower of heaven arc as someone said 'cos she won't split up with her bros as female only guild would suggests =) Though those 3 can be missing part of Sabretooth's 5

Well there is also the possibility that Marakov has two grand children, maybe not same age.

and some thoughts on the arc on that..

1 Brother takes the side of Ivan

Ivan and Marakov match up. (Somehow despite they're not allowed in tournament, perhaps afterwards or inbetween matches).
Brother match up.
Natsu and the 2 dragon slayers match. (Pretty unsure how I want to predict this match, because it smells like Mashima will make it epic).

They have not addressed her or even shown her since they came back...

Dunno about that, I think Luxus needs to face his father, Ivan. We need to see how much Luxus has grown, does he still hold his father dear in his heart. Remember he wanted to run away to his father, and we all remember Ivan doesn't care one bit about Luxus, but rather the lachrima inside of Luxus so that he can sell it off.

The less people from Edolas the better IMO. Unless its a mini chapter to show how FT and King Jellal in Edolas is doing right now.

Kinda late but i also enjoyed the chapter
Hmm those Raven Tail guys look strong and it's obvious their main target is crushing Fairy Tail. I'm so pissed they did that to Wendy , stealing her magical power that's really cheap and for that in her place we have Elfman. I personally don't like Elfman, his only good point is his brute force overall he doesn't have any other good point about him.
His weak point is that he doesn't think much when he fights that's why i fear for the outcome of this tournament. I just hope he lasts till Wendy recovers i'm not asking too much i think

How was that off-topic though? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, just wondering..
I agree I could have toned the part with Mashima down a bit in this thread, but the other parts was highly on-topic as how I see it.
The entire arc, so far, circles around this tournament, therefore every discussion about the tournament would be on-topic if only a little related to the current / next chapter, right?
Also the discussion about power scale could provide information and also a reason for why we'll keep seeing old characters in this arc, for example, what guild or members of a guild hold the most absurd power scale battle thus far? Could it be that yet unknown team or guild? That's how I see power scale discussion being on-topic, it can in theory provide information on who that guild will be, and also about the current chapter.
In an interview we were told a lot of old characters will return, this also makes it on-topic imho, as the likelyhood of this still unknown guild might be someone we know, and es earlier mentioned, looking back on power scale battles, we might predict who they are, and what will come next chapter, a prediction.

So when this chapters theme was to show new and old characters, discussing the power scale issue might give us clues of the old characters still to be shown, and likely, next chapter. This would be on-topic?

Again, not trying to be rude or anything, but a bit put off no less.
I'd like to predict what comes next chapter, but without a foundation discussion (power scale), how can we make a prediction that isn't way out there?
We only got a limited amount of member space left in the tournament, as the spot will be 5 mages (1 guild), so the most absurd power scale battle in the past, might be them.
My bad if I repeated my self, trying to make sure this is not misunderstood.
