im with everybody the first thing that came out of my mind is that fairy tale got a second team to be in the games, reason why they got boo from crowd, mybe just used a different name and the name special punks b team is a great indication that it might as well be bilgow, evergreen, mirajane, cana, freid, laxus, gajeel one of these five people could possible be them and my be it might be possible that mask man be a double agent or somebody that is being controlled or just gajeel he did spy for raven tail and part of the reason why he trained by himself.

Raven Tail has become legal, see, that had to be it. Though, the council approving them is odd enough.

It's also interesting that Quatro Cerberus is one of the strongest teams. I never thought that master would have a powerful guild xD

I am calling Edo FT team! Without Mystogan of course, since he would be locked right away. Imagine the fan service we would get seing FT core members a lot older.

Edo FT team would be indeed "special", no normal magic + kinda punks, going on with magic tools instead of magic. Plan B, since its another sort of chance to win for FT ^_^

I think its a matter of perception over there..but moving on.

I like all the guilds introduced but I'm sure the cerebus will be ...fodder..because they look like fodders.
Ivan's team looks good and hyped up like with all ft villains. Tbh mavis joining in is kindda ridiculous, felt like
she's there for fanservice.
Can't wait to see sting and raven's guild (their other party members) and the other one who might just be the first one
that made it.

And god, the girls are in skimpy clothes again. Did natsu really have to change his outfit? I mean, I liked that one alot.

Ok, I didn't expect the Wendy case to be solved that soon already. It's a bit surprising but ok, with this rivalry with Raven Tail it could turn out to be interesting. Although I thought that the one clinch with the two other dragon slayer who killed their mother and made Natsu rage would have been enough for this arc. I'm wondering which rivalry is going to be the dominant one.

If the other unknown guild is going to be the third one Natsu is raging about it could turn out sort of complicated, so I do not hope so.

Ehm, and Mavis appearance was very odd, I'm not sure what to think about it yet.

I don't think FT will have a 2nd team. I mean how is that even possible unless the new guild was recognized within the 3 months of training.

Looking forward to Sabertooth and Punk B team making an appearance next week and getting the tournament started.

I can imagine it already having to do with transportation so Natsu will be useless lol.

I'm probably beating a dead horse with a bamboo, but why is it so hard for translators/scanlators to decide on using one name rather than having a squillion different spelling for the same people. Wrrryyyyy? Ewan takes the cake, how do you butcher a simple name like Ivan... o_O

Their speed translator apparently can't be bothered to spend any time checking the Fairy Tail wikia for character names. Which would still leave them using Iwan as the first instance of Ivan's name was translated as that in the manga, which is what the wikia goes by, though the latest volume corrects it to Ivan. Given what I know of how Fairy Tail official name translations work, Iwan probably was the official translation until enough time had passed to get a message through the Kodansha bureaucracy to Mashima that "The name you want is 'Ivan'" by which point it was too late to fix for the first volume it appeared in. Still, "Ewan" is just silly, the characters used for his name are 'iwan', and plugging that into any japanese name translator should net you Ivan.

As for the masked man he is probably Laxus if Punk Team B doesn't end up being him and other FT members.

In my opinion brainwashing is out of fashion, it has already been used on Juvia and people using talking no jutsu on Laxus again won't feel good.

On the other hand, it could be that Raven Tail ambushed Laxus and took the Raijinshu hostage to force him against Makarov.

That would be far more epic because Laxus would be outright forced to fight his friends for the sake of his even closer friends without being able to reveal why he is doing it.

Think you're right on the mark here, he's testing or pushing the limits, maybe to as far as he can go, maybe to try change shounens to be allowed to go to such naughty heights

Also Marvis saying she feels an evil malicious when Raven Tail appears strikes to as a bit of an odd coincidence if it should be one, it doesn't quite match with Luxus

You know, Mashima is doing well. He released a string of decent chapters, nothing too terrible in them or at least there weren't really faults that you couldn't get past(other than the BS dragon raising from Sabertooth), and there was nothing incredibly great in them either. They were pretty solid chapters for a base to build an arc on. But I must admit, this chapter in particular was pretty darn good. Nothing I could find was displeasing, in fact it was a better than good chapter.

I am knocking on wood here because we have seen Mashima in the past has produced good chapters at the start of an arc which gets us all hyped up, but his trouble is the long haul. He hasn't been able to stay consistent and keep the level high for an entire arc and has gone downhill as the tail ends of arcs roll around. I am hoping Mashima has improved and can keep this up, but I am fearful of one thing. And that is the sheer amount of characters in this arc.

I honestly think it is just too many. How will Mashima juggle and balance not only all the Fairy Tail mages competing in the tournament, but the individual members of the other "named" guilds? Aside from the possible "fodder" guilds he just introduced he has to give screen time to Raven Tail, Sabertooth, and this mysterious yet to be revealed dark guild. Along with Pegasus and Lamia Scale and how they are defeated.

Frankly it is a ton of characters, and you just know Fairy Tail will have to get their due. They will have to get Raven Tail back for what they did to Wendy, they will have to face Sabertooth due to the Dragon Slayers, and they will have to figure out what the heck is up with the unnamed guild and what makes Gerard and co. along with Mavis skeptical about the dark aura they put off.

I am remaining hopeful since it's a tournament arc and Mashima should be able to cut down on the guilds pretty easily.

There is one posibility how Luxus might have been made a member of Raven Tail (though I hope it's not him).
When Raven Tail main members were shown with Ivan several chapters ago, I van was shown with something like a little paper puppet in his hand... So maybe his magic is related to puppeting? That's a way he might make someone his puppet.

Also about FT's names... I think it's quite normal that names are somewhat written a bit strange. It's the same with Erza, cause normally this name should be Elza. Or Gelall, whose name should obviously be Gerard (don't know the right spelling in french).
