if anything, from what we know of hashirama and tobirama, they were more likely the better genjutsu users in terms of chakra control

the uchiha have hax genjutsu application through the sharingan, but control wise hashirama and tobirama were definitely superior. madara himself praised their use (and there is nothing to suggest madara could do medical ninjutsu)

tsunade herself has excellent and unrivalled chakra control

it seems more related to general intelligence than strict lineage

naruto is a retard and he will always be unable to use genjutsu if he remains so, and same goes ofr his mother. i'm pretty sure there are intelligent uzumakis and senjus though.

Re: Members of the Uzumaki clan

I (like most everyone I think) had suspected that Karin was an Uzumaki. Turns out she is.

So I think many, many other people in the series have at least a few drops of Uzumaki blood in them, whether they know it or not. Maybe not enough to make any difference in their power, but enough to, say, make their hair a little pinkish - like Sakura.

But Tsunade is only a quarter (I think?) Uzumaki, and the Senju blood is pretty strong in her, so I'm guessing her blonde hair is from the Senju side. However, that could just be part of her "youthful jutsu" thing, maybe her hair does have some red in it that she doesn't show. Not that it matters though, I think her vitality is evidence that she has some Uzumaki blood.

But I really do expect some other people like Gaara to maybe have a few drops of Uzumaki blood in them, since the clan was scattered all over the world. Nagato had Uzumaki in him, but he didn't know it (I think?) and he was a villain for a while, like Gaara.

I don't mean to be like "OMG RED HAIR = UZUMAKI" but we probably shouldn't overlook the possibility, like with Kurenai.

Anyway, I'm guessing that Tsunade is Naruto's grandma and that Dan is his grandpa.

    what

there has been no senju shown to have blond hair

also, the tsunade theory, are you saying she's naruto's grandma through minato or through kushina?

edit: wrong name in there, changed it to kushina

Well, so far red hair has been shown to be actual irrefutable proof that someone is without a shred of a doubt an uzumaki. I don't think we should deviate from that. The issue here though is that kushina and tsunade's grandma were never said or implied to be related. It is the sort of thing people would know and even if tsunade had it rough I doubt she would just ignore naruto if they were related.

The situation with sakura is perhaps interesting. Her chakra control has been shown to be exceptional though, it is possible she is distantly related to the uzumaki. Of course, pink hair is not the same as red hair here.

Really the Point that the remaining members "scattered across the land"...the pretty much doomed there clan.....and Tsunade is not related to Kushina.....Kushina came to he village when Mito was dieing and that was at the time of the third Hokage...so Tsunade would have been alive(and fighting in the very war's the whirlpool fell in) yet there has been no mention of any connection between Tsunade and Kushina..so i highly doubt there related...

But there is a chance that Sasori's father , Sasori. and Gaara all have uzumaki heritage....i doubt kishi would state something like " Uzumaki trade mark red hair" and "all Uzumakis have red hair" if we were not to imply that to every one and the uzumaki blood could enplane why Sasori could control 100 puppets and why Gaara was suited to be the 1 tails host

Re: Members of the Uzumaki clan

From the moment Tobi said, the traditional Uzumaki Red Hair, I started thinking that Karin was Uzumaki. Even before that i was thinking that her special chakra was more important than it seemed. When Kushina said that she had special chakra, I started thinking that maybe Karin really was from the Uzumaki clan. She probably knows this and was planning on telling Naruto. That could be why she did the shocked face after being rescued (but it was probably due to Kurama inside Naruto).

Anyway, Gaara, Chouza, Sasori and Sasori's dad, Mei and Karui all have red hair. They could end up being related to the Uzumaki. I'd really like that this was the case anyway. Gaara, Chouji, Mei and Karui all being sort of cousins to Naruto would be interesting

We never did learn Gaara's surname or any of the siblings for that matter.

I still believe that many of the Uzumaki clan members that managed to get away are alive and are planning on intervening on the war, probably having a role on sealing either Madara or the 10 tails avenging their destruction. Rather than they being destroyed during the war I believe that they were destroyed by Madara. It was never mentioned, if I'm not mistaken, that they were destroyed by the war happening at the time, but rather they were suddenly attacked.

I'm looking forward for the next chapters to see if we find out anything else about the Uzumaki. I actually wanted the war to come to a standstill and stop for some time and Naruto went on a quest to find more about his past, their jutsu and more training. I hope this comes true.

Now that is an interesting idea. I always believe they might intervene at the start of the war but now it's a great chance for them to really kick in. Shinobi are exhausted (especially the kages) and they need help fast

I usually just read the manga so it is kinda hard for me to take notice in just who has red hair lol. Kinda forgot all those people actually had red hair (damn you black and white frames). Not sure about gaara's hair, is it actually red? Seems kinda like between red and brown in some pictures... Sasori has a distinctive red so I would argue he is indeed uzumaki related. Perhaps the life force associated with them is what ultimately allowed him to live as a heart in a box. It does kinda make sense that gaara would be chosen to be the host of the biju for being an uzumaki though. Being an uzumaki would perhaps explain why the third kazekage was able to control iron (although we don't know if he was related to gaara), how his dad learned how to control gold and how gaara attained sand control even after being separated from his biju.

Mei does not have red hair though.

I think the manga did say the whirpool country was destroyed during the war because of their sealing techniques. I doubt the uzumaki clan simply exists as a thing right now. If anything, them and their descendants should already be participating in the war considering they scattered across nations.

Where did Madara ever praise their genjutsu abilities? I never remembered that.

As for Uchiha's having "haxed genjutsu" this is false. A tool is only as good as it's user. For instance, Kakashi being a genius probably used Obito's Sharigan better than Obito ever could. Likewise, Itachi and Sasuke come from the same gene pool and yet Itachi is much better with genjutsu than Sasuke, and Sasuke much better at ninjutsu than Itachi.

As for the Uzumaki's, something terrible happened to all of Whirlpool which would explain why so many of them are displaced, and it was likely a genocide, or some natural disaster, a war, or the most obvious, the Kyuubi destroyed the place before he was sealed into Kushina.

I have an uneasy feeling that Madara might have secretly wiped out most of the Uzumaki's along with most of the Senju somehow, which would explain why there are only 3 survivors of the two clans combined at the moment.

Obito has also slipped through the boulders before he awakened his MS. No surprise here at all, just Kishi doing a headstand while taking a shit, which is pretty much the development cycle in a nutshell of his recent work - IChallengeYou!

Yes it was Zetsu that said that.

Kushina explained that during the war times the clan began to be feared because of their sealing jutsus and the country was ravaged. I think, like you, that Madara was involved in this incident of the country being destroyed. Out of fear that someone like Mito would appear one day he decided that he would destroy the clan and country.

As for the Senju, I believe that some of them are still alive. We never knew what happened to Tsunade's mother, father and uncles. Or if the 2nd Hokage had kids.

    i wrote a theory on this(whirlpool wars)...
mark my word...danzou was involved in this...this is too much of an inside job.

the uzushio village(land of whirlpools)was located on an island...in the depths of the fire country.so who ever infiltrated them...either had knowledge of their security or had been there before(as an ally).
because a large assault would surely be noticed by shinobi in the land of fire and a small shinobi squad surely could not take down a village full of kushinas and narutos.

but,i too am very much interested in where these blood relatives reside...and how have they influenced other clans/villages/nations....

Well I actually doubt that Danzou was involved in this. He seemed to start moving after that had happened. I think, it's not been stated on the manga, that Kushina went to Konoha about 10 years after Sandaime took place. This was before the 3rd Great War, and somehow I doubt that Danzou could move that freely back then. He couldn't take out that country alone.

He could've had help, but I believe that it was mostly Madara involved in this.

That or it was after the 2nd Shinobi War and the country was destroyed in the aftermath of the result.

Still, Danzou being involved would be in his character.

Indeed, finding more about them would be so good. It's a bit sad that Kishi never did put much emphasis on the main character's clan but rather on the main antagonists one. They are more alike than Sasuke thinks actually. Both clans were destroyed with only a few survivors, and in Naruto's case he has more "relatives" than Sasuke currently haves.

Both were destroyed out of fear of their abilities, even if the Uchiha were killed because they were preparing a coup d'etat.

And possibly both clans were destroyed because of the same person. Madara/Tobi.

Hadn't it been Tobi 16 years ago, both Uchiha and Namikaze/Uzumaki would be alive. Unless, of course, the theory that the Uchiha were actually involved in the release of Kurama on the village 16 years ago becomes true. We never did see any Uchiha, apart from Sasuke and Itachi that night.

Sweaty Re: Members of the Uzumaki clan

hey check out the image of the two clans together...hashirama-sama and the uzumaki leader.
no wrinkles or age line in his face...but his hair is either blond or white...so is the"blond"gene that tsunade and naruto have?

maybe namikaze is an mix of senju and uzumaki relations...maybe this mix of people don't get the full extent of genes from each side(of course).but,we have seen these"blonds"have extrodinary talents in certain fields...tsunade,minato,naruto,etc....

i started thinking about this when kabuto had his flashbacks...how danzou reacted towards the orphanage.he does not care about allies.
but it was when kabuto said that he incoporated karin's uzumaki dna in himself...i started to think about how oro acquired her.

it's quite a coincidence that he found her in a village that had(just)got wiped out...and the fact that she was"special"...reminded me of kabuto.that got me thinking about danzou...
so besides the fact of the wars...i'm sure that once hiruzen was chosen to be hokage...ROOT was on it's way to being established.

now, speaking of timeline...if nagato is older than minato and kushina...why was his family not in uzushio...or was that uzushio(hummm)?
because if i remember right...kushina's village(uzushio)was destryed after she became jinchuuriki...right(shrugs)?
this is what really throws me off...where is nagato from...originally?
