Recently on Chapter 571, Gai 8 gates could take out 5 biju dama...but he would end up dead after that.

How strong you think this 8 gates that even strong enough to take out 5 biju dama at point blank range between Gai and Kakashi.

So 8 Gates can go beyond biju dama level...

Well i think he thought that was the only thing he could do to have a chance of sucess,actually he can't know how is strong are the 8 gates opened,you'll die if you do that,right? so u cant train or test it imho

Clones can do that in training. :-) As we seen Naruto shadow clones are able to use FRS without getting real naruto body injured...

So If clones can do that capable of using their own technique. I think this how they train their forbidden technique and see how dangerous it is. Other wise they cant tell how dangerous it is, without pulling it off first?

Gai didnt know how strong those Bijuu bombs were, nor did he know how much strength he would need to handle them. He was taking a gamble.

he was referring to the fact that he would have died nonetheless,if he hadn't used the 8th gate,at least he would have resisted a bit longer if he had used his gates. now,we know that 8 gates surpass hokages for sure,but since 7 gates gai was already strogner than a hokage,a 8gate should have been able to handle more than a biju (I mean,if someone at hokage level uses 8 gates,his strength should increase to madara uchiha or to Sage's level,not to surpass for a bit "the hokage level")

7gates isn't Hokage level or stronger....Kisame was still able to move after his Afternoon Tiger technique and resisted after being held by Yamamoto's wood Jutsus.....The fact he doesn't use chakra in this form doesn't even make sense seeing how strong he becomes it's retarted......Being Surrond by 5 Bijuu bombs enough to destroy any villgage....Kakashi's best bet it to warp 2 at best probably die cause their huge......And Gai's best bet was to either get vaporized or go out with a bang!! open up 8gates dodge and pummel a bijuu for a brief moment......If you open them you become stupid strong but not defeating bijuu strong...

Kisame was shown quite durable, blocking physical attacks from both Gai and Kirabi. SO him not being taken out doesn't mean Gai wasn't as strong as a Kage in that mode. As for what he could have done against the Bijuu Blast, I would think some sort of shockwave to block them, since that's what his Gate techniques have in common.

Probably deflecting them with a shokwave type of attack. That is the best thing i can give him.

what I was expecting was that he rejected 2 bijubombs towards other 2,nullifying 4 out of 5,and kakashi's kamui threw the last one against a biju,that would have been very smart

what i know is that the 8th gates is the ticket for gai to the other world... but the technique name partially, maybe will be named with "evening" or "night". we now know morning peacock and afternoon tiger. maybe the evening part would be "evening *&*@!@$#" and the night would be "night &^%^&".

Well, opening up all the gates serves the purpose of using all of the body's chakra, right? The clones wouldn't be able to train with opening the 8 eights then, because remember that shadow clones wind up causing the user (and all of the clones) to divide up their chakra equally, which means that it wouldn't be of the same effect.

Naruto is pretty ridiculous to be able to have a bunch of clones up and still put together multiple FRS, but Gai's situation is different in that it literally causes all of the user's chakra to get used up, which is what causes the death.

I think we will surely see someone using 8gates,probably gai. but kishi won't kill him,not just because he said that in an interview(and he can easily change his mind), but because it would really disappoint a lot of readers,and the manga itself would be worse if he ends up dying. I hope he will find out a compromise to let gai use the 8gates without killing him.

Gai or Lee will definitely be able to open all 8 gates without dying. Just look at how Chouji survived the butterfly transformation after it was said that he'd die if he used it. Gai use of the gates is impressive since he seems to activate them as if it's nothing.
