I'm guessing Kabuto might use to much chakra and loose controll over Orochimaru's cells. This way, instead of dying, he'll transform into Orochimaru, who'll slither away to regenerate. And show up later for a final fight.

However it happens, I think it is pretty much a given Kabuto will be the channel for Orochimaru's return. ET couldn't possibly have been the only Jutsu or reason Kabuto believes he is stronger than Orochimaru. Whatever else he has may be way more twisted, broken and less easy to control putting Kabuto at risk for those cells to overtake him completely.

His arms were supposedly "sealed" inside the Death God. I won't go on too far about this but it could be feasibly (Not without it's share of protest) written into the story with yet another unknown element to a tech we thought we had all the information on.

Orochimaru is like Voldemort and his Horcruxes. One part of his "soul" is inside Kabuto, other is in the shiki fuujin, another is sealed by Totsuka sword and the last was inside white snake...Itachi burned this one with amaterasu...as long as Kabuto is alive there's hope for Oro.

I know...maybe I should use "life force" or something like that instead of "soul"...it was just easier to write soul...it's obvious that Oro's DNA is not just DNA when it tries to take over Kabuto's body etc.

Yep it certainly opens doors about things. Mainly it could help explain Tobi as being madara but not madara.

And beyond that Oro clearly was experimenting with souls considering how he took over bodies, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if people manage to split and duplicate their souls in this manga.

Well I don't think that this kind of split is good for Tobi almost Madara problem...When Muu split his soul/body he couldn't use his techniques after that so it was like spliting his chakra too...and Madara[Edo] can do everything and more...at least he didn't complain about anything.

I think we should just get over the fact that Tobi is not Madara...if he would be he would still claim that he's madara after they told him that real madara was summoned, but he just said that he's no one really...without any objection.

It would be quite interesting if during the confrontation of Kabuto vs Itachi, the former manages to somehow free Oro from Totsuka. Orochimaru was the best villain this series ever had.
