Didn't realize that was the series next in line from this magazine for an anime, nice. Which is next terrafor mars, that 81 manga? Brynhider?

81 Diver had a drama a while back. I don't think it's popular enough at this point to get an anime. It's a good series though. I'm hoping to be able to get back to translating it soon.

Glad to hear it. The drama felt pretty short, but it was a pretty great adaptation. Besides, if Air Master taught us anything, it's that Shibata's work doesn't really translate that well to animation...

    Re: Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha)

Popularity shouldn't really have much to do with it. Plenty of more obscure manga are made into anime every season. Until recently, Young Jump seemed to prefer drama adaptions, whenever possible. 81 Diver, Liar Game, Usogui, and Kamen Teacher all come to mind. Since 81 Diver's drama, that seems to have changed, and they are doing more anime. Except for Kingdom, Young Jump anime have not done well. Zetman bombed, the new Rozen Maiden adaption didn't do great. I'm not expecting much from Brynhildr, especially with how many heavily hyped new anime are already announced for the spring. Tokyo Ghouls I have higher expectations for, depending on studio, staff, and cast.

Zetmam was handled oddly, a volume an episode was too intense and though it was a competant show (dots and lines was a hot op song) I imagine manga readers felt it was a rotten production. I just fear the show like Terraformars will end up with the same situation as it continues to rack up volumes.

I feel the same way I fear it will be another disaster like the Zetman anime was.

    Re: Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha)

Why? Terraformers hasn't been licensed yet. It's not as if it is going to be produced by the same studio, by the same director, with the same writers as Zetman. Zetman doesn't have anything to do with Terraformers.

    Re: Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha)

Terra Formars isn't long enough to have an anime yet, but it's kinda obvious it will have one given its high sales.
81 Diver gets more fantastical as it goes on with people having DBZ-parody powers. So it's probably more suited to being an anime. But I dunno if the subject matter and art style are the kind of thing that would be popular enough to make into an anime though. It's also 31 volumes long and ongoing. In the current manga, an important event that's been built up for a very long time is happening now, so it's probably going to end in the reasonably near future.

Bright and colourful Nejimaki Kagyuu anime made in the spirit of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Nobunagun would be illegally awesome.

    Re: Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha)

From its latest chapter (220) it seems like Zetman will be ending soon. I honestly don't see it lasting more than 10 chapters at this point but who knows...

For people who are interested, here are two Young Jump authors' future planning:

    - Katsura Masakazu (author of Zetman) = End Part 1 of Zetman → Start Part 2 of Zetman (but, Katsura said he isn't sure if he can finish the series due to his age)

    - Morita Masanori (author of Beshari Gurashi) = End Beshari Gurashi (Amateur arc) → Start complete new work (he wishes the series that easy to get animated and get lots of merchandises) → Start Beshari Gurashi (Professional arc)

So that's why I had a feeling it was ending, end of part 1? Nice. Do you have a link for this?
