there's not scanned cover yet?
The more time passes the more I'm convinced Mongrel can survive as a sleeper title in the anthology. I'm just hoping the first two volumes get a reprinting soon, a my supplier is out of volume 2 ¬_¬
Also yay more Boku Girl colour pages! No idea if this is an early sign of success, but I'd be glad if it were.
Yup. I know I've been saying it for a few weeks now, but this week's Nejimaki confirms it. This is gonna be the final arc. Whether it's one or two volumes or several more is the question worth asking now. I'd like to see the series at least get to 15 volumes, but it really depends. Either way it's had a wonderful run
that I need to hurry up and translate...damn it being seinen. Damn it.
Atsushi Nakayama (author of Nejimaki Kagyuu) drew this picture of 81Diver.
Looks awesome man. Though I dunno if I like how Nakayama's art is getting more streamlined and normal manga-ish. But maybe it's just for fanart like this? In any case now with Nejimaki winding down (see what I did there?) I hope he's already got plans for his next series.
and that this series may be in a shounen mag so I can translate it easier.
oh my god it looks so great. he should do a full colored manga with this streamlined style. nothing against his own one but this one looks more appealing at least to me.
It is announced that Mogusa-san (series from Tonari no Young Jump) will be move to Young Jump and it'll begin serializing on Issue 19.
Nejimaki has become a little streamlined? Not too much. I think in the series Nakayama's just gotten used to drawing the characters and instinctively tries to find the quickest way to. (Which makes sense since drawing extravagant things every week for an indefinite period would probably be a nightmare.) He sort of reminds me of Matsui (Assassination Classroom.) Who seems to get more restrained the longer he stays in the biz. If you look back at Traumeister (also by Nakayama) you'll get a sense of how unhinged he can be. Then again Nejimaki is his first series that didn't get cancelled immediately, so maybe his new more restrained style is what sells?
I just think the 81 diver fanart just looks more polished because those aren't his characters. Unfamiliar territory and whatnot. That doesn't mean it isn't awesome, and I wouldn't mind if he was put in charge of the art for it. (Then again his art is why I love his series.)
You should read the scantlations though, they just got to the first major arc.
