Nothing like a mother - daughter bond trying to withstand tragedy (plus causing the majority of the stories events).

Teresa and Clare had the deepest connection in the series thus far, as well as being the driving force for Clare taking in Raki and the loss of Teresa effecting Clare negatively has since become a reoccurring theme with many of the series other better written relationships (Hilda & Miria, Raphaela & Luciela, Undine & friend, Cassandra and #35)

Plus unlike many other pairings we got to witness that relationship go from "no way in hell" to "go epic winning" and it was one hell of a ride.

As to Clare and Raki, I always viewed Raki as a device to make us more curious about Clare and later as her potential savior emotionally after he tells Isley why he wants to train (and it's that relationship I want to see, not quite the boy and big sis one (though it had potential it was never fully developed or fleshed out; only ch 1, ch 4, ch 7, ch 32, and ch 34 where really good when the rest where so-so to ok imho when all of Clare and Teresa's moment together rocked)

I liked Helen and Deneve in the beginning but the writing imho never hit OMG levels, especially once Deneve started becoming the mouth of Yagi and Helen kinda took a back seat plot wise... once that happened Helen's comments just became an excuse for Deneve to comment on the action and the pairing lost there character to become mouth pieces for Yagi explaining what was happening plot wise.

I love Raphaela and Lucilea but we never actually saw them together only separated... so I don't think they qualify here : (just like I don't see Clare and Raki searching for each other counting either since they are not actually together and thus we can't judge them as a pair)

A beautiful example of true friendship, each one supporting the other to overcome the burden of being a claymore. Seeing Helen crying when she thought that Isley had killed Deneve and then attacking him so fiercely, in spite of she was no match for him, really moved me.
