I'm a big fan of Japanese manga and anime, and I also read a lot of doujinshi of my favorite work (such as AOT lol)
I'm quite interested in people's doujinshi reading habits so I made a google form to do a survey about it.
If it's convenient for you to help filling the form, please go to
And if you are also interest in this topic, you can leave email address at the last page. Maybe I can send you the result later.=D
If I post at the wrong place please let me know.
Thanks all. ;-D
Ooh this is a great subject! I don't think its in the wrong place.
I submitted my answers. What are you hoping to gain from the survey?
I too am really interested in doujinshi and find doujinshi culture really interesting and unique. I'm guessing for a lot of people though their interest in doujinshi is more of the hentai kind (don't we all want to see porn of our favorite characters?)
I thought fan conventions such as Comiket or Super Comic City would also be mentioned in your survey. Outside of doujinshi piracy and buying online, the only other way you can get physical copies of doujinshi is by going to a convention. I find that pretty unique!
I love haikyuu!! and free! doujins, but also a wide variety of other series like haruhi (for kyon and koizumi).
I like browsing covers as well to attack on titan ones (jean and eren).
Thanks for your reply.=D
>What are you hoping to gain from the survey?
Briefly, I hope to know how popular the doujinshi is,
how the people living outside of Japan read it,
and if people living outside of Japan would like to pay for it.
Well, when I made this survey form, I was thinking about that there are so many pirate site on the internet,
and it's so difficult/expensive to get a original copy outside of Japan. So I wonder if people is willing to pay for it.
By the way, I myself prefer the printed one.
But a problem of printed Doujinshi is that it's usually Japanese (of course lol)
Language barrier is always a big issue for publishing abroad,
and it is much more difficult to translate the work into other language for self publishing.
Though I also know that some people buy them even they can't read Japanese at all.
>don't we all want to see porn of our favorite characters?
Yeah, I also think it's the target for most of people lol (especially the untranslated one)
The reason why I didn'e mention the fan conventions is that this survey target the people living outside of Japan,
and I thought it may not be the main method for buying them...
Okay maybe I'm wrong cause I do know someone who flies to Japan only for the fan conventions (surprisingly)
Thanks for your reply!
I love FREE too!! Can't wait to watch the next season!!!
Haikyuu is onair now and I plan to check it out sometime.
I am one of those people who will buy them even though I can't read Japanese. Buying doujinshi has made me appreciate printed ones a lot more. You can feel the love the artists put into it. I don't buy doujinshi for popular series though (if I did I'd be penniless...)
I am impressed by people who go to conventions! From what I've seen they can be so crowded and popular circles will sell out by midday. I've tried using a proxy service for a convention but its difficult because once things sell out there's no concept of reprinting.
