Naruto's end and what that means to us.

Recently in an interview, the creator of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto stated:

    Quote Quote:
    Q. Last but not least, what do you want to say to the fans of Naruto in the U.S.?

Naruto is getting close to the climax of the series, and it's going to get really heated from now on, so keep following Naruto until the end. That would make me really happy.
We all knew it was going to happen sooner or later - what with all the major villains dead. Let's just take a look at what we have to look forward too.
    • Naruto defeats the 'Masked Man' Tobi
    • The Kages defeat Madara Uchiha
    • Kabuto is defeated
    • Sasuke is defeated
And with that Naruto becomes Hokage, or whatever they decide to call him (The Avatar maybe ) and the series ends.

The first question I wanted to ask everyone?

What the hell are you going to do with your life when Naruto ends?

For me, I'm going to feel completely shitty mid-week not having Naruto there to cheer me up and get me over that mid-week hill, like it has for so many years now.

What do you think Kishimoto is going to do after Naruto?

I really hope he'll go on to create Naruto spin-off manga (Like the long rumored Minato or Itachi Gaiden). Or he might even go onto to write about Naruto's career as Hokage and all the hardships he has to face as an inexperienced leader, I also think it's fine if he wants a break from the Naruto series and creates something completely original - and on that note...

What do you think this means for the Naruto franchise?

Do you think SJ will milk the series (eg: Dragonball GT, I sincerely hope they do nothing that bad to Naruto) or even let another Mangaka write an original story set in the Narutoverse? I would personally love to see another Mangaka's take on the series.

I really just want to know about how everyone feels about Naruto finally coming to an end. Anything on topic is welcome.

P.S: Sorry if this is in the wrong section... I don't post much

Re: Naruto's end and what that means to us.

It may sound cliche, but Naruto and the characters of Naruto has become a little part of my life. I've watched/read the series for God knows how many years, around the time-skip part.
I've re-read and re-watched the series many times, I've cried a manly tear once in a while during certain moments of the series.
I'm probably gonna feel like shit when the series ends. Let's just hope that the remaining parts are good as hell!

I think you missunderstood what Kishi has written.

The meaning climax of the series means the highest point or the biggest excitement of the story thats usually in the middle of the story not the end. Kishi means he is getting close to the excitement of the series.

He also said it before during the Naruto vs Pain arc.

If this is how you have interpreted what Kishi has said, what do you think he is going to write about next?

I would personally love to see him write an arc about Naruto's career as Hokage and all the hardships he has to face as an inexperienced leader.

Where do you think is a good place for Kishi to end the series? When Naruto dies? Or will he go continue to write about a new generation of characters in the narutoverse?

I do belive you are wrong here, in 80% cases this kind of thing happens exactly at the end, case they lead to conclusion of the whole tale, all the strings, all the paths, evil masterminds and the heroes of light meet eachother in final clash to deside everything...that is what climax is.

    Now back to topic:
Yea..i will be miss this manga,it gave me alot of possitive attitude and moments ,one of the best mangas i read so far.
On a sidenote i think end of the manga is a good thing for a franchise oO case anime will be more popular, case all who are missin manga will watch upcoming series (and even those damn fillers, lol) for just to c a Naruto again.
Hope Kishi will start a new project, wich will be atleas equal to thisone.

man im gonna miss naruto! i remember when i first discovered naruto from my mom's friends house. Her son was about 5 yrs older thsn me and he showed me naruto before it was even in the states. I think i was around 10 or 12 but i have been following it every since then and im 18 now. it is sad to see it wrap up but hopefully kishi still does naruto based stuff in the future. i would love to see a mini arc as naruto as hokage, or a minato/ itachi gaiden. maybe even an arc about the life of the sage of 6 paths!

Re: Naruto's end and what that means to us.

I don't think it's quite as near the end as you make it sound.
I think Naruto still have at least 4-5 years ahead of him.

I doubt that this is the last arc.
After the war, many things could happen.

In any case, to answer your question, I'd feel both very sad and very happy.
I like the manga and it will feel different when I won't have it anymore, but every story needs to end at some point, so I'm good with it.

My favorite manga ended some time ago (Full Metal Alchemist) and I was sad for a while, but the story was so good and the ending so perfect that I was just glad I could have finish it.

And don't worry, once you're done with Naruto you will find something else to follow.
I still have plenty more (Bleach, One Piece, HxH, Claymore, Soul Eater, etc).

    Just start reading Berserk...
This manga is so long that you will be good for reading it until the end of your life!!

    True love will conquer everything
The question now is : which of those two loves, is the true one?!

Traditional story telling has the climax in the "75%" mark of the story, then the action ramps down.

After nartuto ill probably pick up another manga that is just starting, because bleach will be ending soon as well. But man, i must have been following this since at least 2004, started with just the anime subs, and later on the manga.

Well to me, it really just means that a story that I've been following for years is going to end soon. I can finally see the story's conclusion xD. It also means that I'll be able to open up that spot to other manga that I find interesting and worthy of following in the long run. It'll be weird, no doubt, to not see Naruto as part of the weekly releases, but it'll happen.

Re: Naruto's end and what that means to us.

When Naruto ends...I'll just keep reading One Piece for 3-4 more years.

I was really in love with Naruto when I first saw it. I was 14 and the concept of it was amazing to me. Naruto was a head strong character that fought hard for his beliefs. Back then he was actually well developed and had a lot of action. The side characters were also well managed then.
Then Shippuden happened. Sasuke started getting too much screne time and plot holes kept getting bigger until it reached the half-assed war we have now. Naruto did alsolutly nothing for over 200 chapters except run around and hyperventilate while Sasuke was being beastly. Look up "Naruto vs" then look up "Sasuke vs." The result is uncanny; the most popular/epic fights and scenes are with Sasuke and not the main character of the story.
Realizing Naruto hasn't had any real importance(besides having the kyuubi) nor had he defeated any villains Kishi decides to give him some new powers and just throw him into battle where all he needs is to run and rasengan people. Naruto's development as a "NINJA" has only recently happened and that honestly ruined the story for me. Now if he actually fought opponents and gained experience before the war then maybe he wouldn't need to spam Kyuubi chakra and the fights would be better thought out instead of Dragonball Z style.
All that being said I still have a soft spot for Naruto and I've enjoyed watching him finally getting his due. While the show could have been handled MUCH better, it will go down in history and probably inspire spin-offs.

Re: Naruto's end and what that means to us.

Naruto ending will feel like a relationship ending or losing someone you love (breaking up, not them dying). Its gonna hit hard and most of us wont get over it for a very long time.

Hopefully Kishi takes the series for another 4-6 years if possible or makes a spin off. I personally see alot of potential for continuation, Kishi could introduce another continent like the way Kubo introduced the Hell realm and Royal Dimension. He could write a story of the on goings of that Continent and ultimately make them meet the Narutoverse. Maybe Sasuke isnt really the destined reincarnation of the Evil son, maybe in that Continent we get to go through the gradual tranformation of someone pure to evil.

I just dont want Naruto to end, Its one of those things that you feel should always go on with you throughout your life.

Re: Naruto's end and what that means to us.

People Bleach is not ending soon.

Climax doesn't always mean the end of the series, and Kishi said it before during the Naruto vs Pain on Jump Festa. Naruto vs Pain was the one of the climax of the series.

Climax means the highest point of the story or biggest moment, it usually happens in middle of the story or near from the beginning.
