Noblesse Chapter 223 Review

[Jammin]

Once upon a time there was a reviewer who accidentally deleted something he did not intend to. Horrified, our hero, hit the undo button which deleted an entire half done review for some reason.

The moral of this story... Never trust the undo button; or the redo button for that matter.

Now onto the(freshly retyped) review!

Chapter Summary

My apartment was in that building....My autographed collection of Elton John records!!

This week starts out with Sangeen trying to flee from the Blonde Troll and the Rasta-douche(if you are beginning to tire of these names I assure you when the series actually tells me what to call them I will switch to that.....probably) . They catch up to him fairly quickly though and the douche tells the troll the stay out of the fight. The Troll comments that "I won't interfere even if you die.", which annoys the douche a little.

Sangeen tries to fight him but is quickly overwhelmed by his opponents power and durability and as the douche prepares to deliver the final blow he apologizes to Yontsu for leaving her behind(a possible indication that they might actually be married). Fortunately for him, just then M-21 hits the Cerberus people with shock bombs and uses the opening to snatch Sangeen.

At first he tries to run but realizes that he can't move fast enough to escape the pursuing Rasta-douche while carrying Sangeen. So, while ignoring Sangeen's pleas to be left behind, they turn to engage the douche.

At Tao's order Takeo puts 3 sniper rounds into the douches leg which sets him up for M-21 to nail him full force from above; as Sangeen looks on in stunned amazement at M-21's power.

Meanwhile back at Casa de Frankenstien. Raizel falters while drinking coffee, and Frankenstein appears to have 4 simultaneous heart attacks, only to find out that this reaction was due to him forgetting to put sugar in his master's coffee.

Chapter Review

RK-4 special technique! THUNDER BALLS! Wait, that doesn't sound right.....

Substance
The fight has gone well for the RK-3 so far. We'll have to wait till next week to find out if M-21's powerful attack did any significant damage but so far it seems like 3 on 1 they can fight this guy effectively.

The wild card is going to be the Troll. If he stays down for a bit or sticks to his word and doesn't interfere even if the douche dies, obviously that would be ideal; as I still think 3 on 2 would not go well for the RK-3. Especially since Sangeen looks so banged up that he would likely lose a fight with a sickly kitten right now.

The only non-combat thing of note was that Sangeen thought of Yontsu making a gentle face when he was about to die. I don't think that's quite confirmation that they are married but it's consistent with the idea that they would be. If the series gives me one more of those moments I'll believe they really have tied the knot.

Presentation
Very pretty character artwork, especially the attacks and Sangeen looking all torn up. The background stuff was a little shoddy though making it hard at times to get a feel for where they are fighting.

I like the way this RK-3 fight is being done though. It's got a distinct focus on teamwork even more than the fight with Rael did. Which is nice to see.

Final Rating
Great combat chapter, but the lack of definition in the background scenery holds the fight back from being a completely fluid experience

I give it a 4 out of 5

My Prediction

• The Blonde-Troll will get involved before the Rasta-douche gets killed.

My Previous Predictions(Current Record 7-8)

Man, it is not lookin' good for a TON of my predictions right now. It's going to be somewhat embarrassing if I end up 8 for 20.

But, worry not, I will soldier on and continue to be wrong with gusto

• Rael will lose his next battle to the RK-4.
• I think Lee Youn-In is going to be more than just a soon-to-be-forgotten sub-character. I suspect she may have a role in the plot.
• The female operative from the Union will eventually end up on Raizel's side, like M-21 and the others.
• Rael will show up at Raizel's school seeking revenge on him and his human friends.
• The Agency Director is evil(obviously).
• Na Yontsu will get mixed feeling about recruiting Shin Woo and Ikkan.
• At some point, when dealing with the Agency, Seira will fail restrain herself.
• Raizel will ultimately choose to use himself up completely in order to help his friends.
• The trainees that disappeared are dead or worse.
• Cerberus will find out the KSA's secret.
• Na Yontsu will fight Cerberus.
• These union people will be a legitimate threat to Frankenstein.
• M-21's confrontation with Yontsu will lead to the KSA discovering his background
• The Rastafarian Cerberus guy with the temper is going to be the first to get killed.
• Sangeen is going to be killed by Cerberus.
• Takeo knows the redhead personally in some way
• Yontsu and Sangeen are not really married.
• Somebody else will join RK-4 and Sangeen in tackling Rasta-douche and the Blonde Troll.

Is the Troll going to stay out of this, or are events going to take a turn for the worse?

I must say this chapter was sort of classical...going with the plot, going with the action, until a nonsensical scene with Rai...the reason why I like this series in the first place...I do admit though that the nonsensical scenes do a nice job with connecting the characters, and connecting the characters with the audience...I would like some variety though...like other people than Franky to have to put up with Rai

Of course there's nothing much to be said about the fight chapter, except maybe the fluidity, which I agree with you, lacked a bit, too much static stuff going around for a desperate person who tries to run away...

But I don't think Rasta douche will die...there's no chance, not even a remote one IMO....this guy is already this powerful, and he was playing around, and the RK members lack Nobles...so no way in hell...also, these guys should possess some sort of transformation right, since they are successfully modified humans....

Therefore Troll won't interfere, but he will observe and the fact that RK-3 will be able to retreat from them and also rescuing Sangeen will prompt them to be more careful or maybe they will actually start to move out and challenge these guys directly...

I can very much imagine these 4 brutes from the Union to go around destroying building and killing civilians, just to spite the enemy...and from plot reasons, the highschool kids will be a good target

That would simply be because they win in numbers, and with more people they can utilize better fighting strategy. Not that I mind, though. ;p

I agree with your prediction that he would step up eventually. Half because he wanted to show off too, that he is a capable fighter, and the other half probably because he simply didn't want to see one of his comrades die. That is, if situation would really turn very bad for that giant and arrogant boy, which is maybe a bit improbable at the moment. Also, I kind of doubt the second reason, considering what kind of characters they are, but always possible. Indeed, if he step up to help it would give our heroes a hard time to deal.

Ah yes, I know that error well. Used to get that all the time before mangahelpers moved to the current format. Many of my incredibly nerdy Naruto pairing posts never saw the light of day because of it....actually maybe that was for the best.

Ah thanks, I struggled quite a bit when trying to figure out what he was drinking because it wasn't stated this chapter and I just couldn't remember what he preferred. The reason I went Coffee was because he put sugar in it and.....

Sugar should never EVER be put in a good cup of tea! If it's bagged tea then it's a lesser crime but if it's fine loose leaf tea then putting sugar or honey in it is a straight up travesty. That kind of tea is all about bringing out the leafy grassy flavor and sugar completely ruins that effect. It's a crime akin to throwing motor oil on the Mona Lisa.

I don't want to believe Raizel would do such a thing.

He's tough no doubt about it, and though the RK-3 ambushed him pretty good, I don't expect they did much more than piss him off.

Now that he knows Takeo is out there and that M-21 is not to be underestimated things should be about to get a lot harder. I don't expect that RK-3 will be able to catch him off guard like that again.

They might be able to escape, depending on what the Troll does, but to be honest I'm not at all sure that's the smart move here. If these guys relay what they know that puts Yontsu in even more danger than Sangeen was and saving her would end up being a lot harder. So I think, to protect her, you've gotta forget about running and turn this into a deathmatch.

I agree with that, but I also think the Cerberus members are not that stupid that they would be able to know about this eventually and would probably split up or something or escape just to get Yontsu. They are strong too, so... anything's possible. ^^;

I know what you mean, I regretted making it that way the very moment I went to cast my vote. Though Seira/Shin Woo is my #1, it stings not to be able to express my enthusiasm for Shin Woo/Raskreia and M-21/Yontsu.

I can understand that, though for me there is this whole "Broke-back mountain" factor I just don't want to think about with them. I mean, love is love, but still...I'll pass on that one.

Oh you don't want to get me started on English tea. Did you know Earl Gray, one of the signature English teas, is essentially black tea with the peels of rotted fruit(specifically Bergamot Oranges) chucked in to dry with the tea leaves? I don't blame anybody for trying to cover up that flavor with milk and honey.

Everytime I go into a convenience store in the USA and see that they do not sell a single kind of unsweetened ice tea(such an injustice) I blame English culinary culture.
