If Yamamoto dies, my vote goes to Aizen as the new Captain Commander. If not possible then it would be Urahara for me. Isshin lacks the strategy/leadership role for the coming war and I am not even sure what his role in SS before he left.

now back to the chapter, in terms of these individuals being able to get into SS and the G13 so easily...well at first i was impresed than i remembered how many times SS has almost been invaded in some shape or form over the course of just our timeline of Bleach (and thats probably what 100 years) and then u realise one thing

This chapter is interesting in many ways first Ivan meeting with Ichigo and following him to go talk he obviously is a messenger for ichigo. He most likely wants to know where ichigo would stand in a war against SS and if he doesn't answer correctly add him to the list too. Another thing is the quincy having hollow features isn't it possible for the quincies that died to have attained hollow powers because of their sheer hatred for SS. If quincies are humans and carried intense emotions why couldn't they have become hollows and retain their quincy abilities and gain hollow powers also. Last thing how is SS so lax in security anyone who wants to seems to be able to gain access to Old man Yama and that shouldn't be regardless of the power he has.

I do not think he's an arrancar, since he got pretty mad when Ichigo said he was one. Looking at Ishida, Quincys are very prideful beings, so it makes sense he would be mad being called an arrancar, if he's not.I remember during Ishida and Mayuris fight, Mayuri telling he did experiments on some quincys, right? what if this was the outcome?

its possible but i dont think thats true. just by the guys reaction that its very clear that he isn't one. On the contrary the quincies dislike hollow so i think its quite plausible that they would deny being one if they were. your theory with mayuri does sound like a good possibility as well but my only concern is that mayuri would probably know how to stop them if they were his creations. Maybe it has to do with the two corpses he found in hueco mundo (but probably very very very unlikely).

It kinda bothers me how ichigo is acting in this situation, running rather then actually hearing out what he would have to say. If Ivan wanted to attack he would've just attacked ichigo right off without introducing himself. The fact he gave him time to turn into a shinigami means he has a message and wants to avoid conflict atm.

In terms of the group that went to Yammamoto, I don't think it's lax security but rather they are juts that good at hiding their presence and they are flaunting their power. They don't have any intention of fighting him their but I think they are aware had they just sent one person to declare war to him he may just kill them outright, at least with sending a group he may be more wary of fighting right there.

It is amusing how ivan got angry over being called an arrancar, there is a theory I could give to it, perhaps he doesn't like to be called an arrancar cause it's the manifestation of many hollows to create one being. While it's possible he could be a hollow spirit that broke him mask a tad but managed to regain his humanity inn the reverse spectrum of an arrancar. While a hollow that turns into a shinigami hybrid might need multiple souls to turn into an arrancar, Ivan might just be a quincy who was a hollow that managed to fight losing his self and thus regain his soul.

Basically I think he's insulted to be compared to a creature that is created through the idea of mass consumption rather then one who still has his own soul and identity that didn't have to go through the consumption of a large amount of hollows to regain their humanity.

Maybe that is true about the arrancar quincy idea but the group going to meet Yama is weird. If every person there is a high-tier member why risk losing them all in a battle with Yama I rather lose a messenger than a squad.

perhaps aizan experimented on quincies because he wanted to upset the balance to destroy the spirit king. that would explain the hollow mask and the arrancar name. maybe the bodies mayuri found were failed quincy/hollow hybrids.

imo there wont be any fighting in SS for now, those ppl dont seem to be looking for a fight at the moment as is the case with Ichigo and the other guy, there wont be any fighting in these current situations i think

based on the two quincies we are most familiar with in Bleach i would say it doesnt take much for them to feel insulted....essentially the Quincy are a bunch of 'Vegetas' it would seem in their eyes everyone else is inferior to begin with....so i dunno if there's any specifications needed

Ichigo wasn't running away, he just wanted to deal with Ivan somewhere away from his house and friends and was leading him away. Also, for why he's being mean to Ivan, I think he was just pissed that Ivan was standing on his bed lol. It was rude, but so was Ivan entering like that, not to mention he did refuse to step off Ichigo's bed lol.

I think Ivan is insulted because Ichigo asked if he was an Arrancar, which is a Hollow that's obtained shinigami powers. Knowing the strong dislike Quincy's have for Shinigami i can see how someone comparing them to shinigami-like being would be insulting. Instead Ivan seems to be a different entity completely. A Hollow that's obtained Quincy powers, or a Quincy that's obtained Hollow powers perhaps.

The mere fact that the intruders declared war in Soul Society, and in front of Yama himself leads me to believe they are incredibly strong. To declare war in the place where the Gotei 13 and numerous Shinigami live seems to promote the fact that they expect to leave SS without too much trouble. I just don't see Yama listening to their declaration and allowing them to leave freely. In any case, i think Yama might be in trouble here.

If Ivan is a mix between Quincy and Hollow, we can assure that it wasn't a willingly fusion (maybe they're the Quincies Kurotsuchi experimented on, or the bodies in Szayelaporro's lab), because if they were devoted to destroy Hollows, I don't think they would have fused with them on their own.

I don't think Ivan is part of the villains of this arc, after seeing those invaders on SS (they have a reflecting mask, right?), I think he will be an ally to Ichigo. Also it might be that there are evil Quincies and others that are good, like Ishida and Ryuuken.

P.S.1: Yumichika's new style is better than the previous one, without that ugly necklace. I can't wait to see how look the rest of captains and vice-captains

P.S.2: What happened with the one informing Yamamoto? HIs body just dissapeared

Cool chapter, either they are really brave or dumb to declare war in front of the old man himself. In any case it's an bold act by the opposition. Also, the security is quite lax I'm surprised they were able to enter SS so easily. I hope Ichigo doesn't kill Ivan i still want to learn more about him.

Exactly what I was wondering the bow Ivan manifested just had spikes I wonder how it works in combat. These quincy with hollow powers could they have a secondary form or will the final quincy form just gain augmentations to fit with their hollow powers they're many possibilities. Do quincy bows change based on the user I always imagined they had the same bows but gradually leveled up until they got the small bow of ryukken but this new one is totally different.
