Faustian themes in Berserk
Going by the famous tragedy of Goethe, where the character strikes a deal with the devil, it really reminds of Berserk and how the concept of the God Hand is really similar to this, specifically how Griffith also became one. Do you think Miura was inspired by Faust to do such a thing with his manga, and can we expect more Faustian themes in Berserk?
Griffith really picks up the Prince Charming Theme -
becoming a toy of higher powers due to his own desires.
(and his look goes along so well too if only he had golden hair)
Faust makes a deal with the Devil in order to accomplish good
that's why i think you got this wrong. He does it to gain
knowledge and experiance sensations he weren't able to
accomplish during his life despite his struggles note this line
"Da steh ich nun, ich armer Tor, und bin so klug als wie zuvor"
meaning his years of study didn't help him to gain any (for him)
