Faustian themes in Berserk

Going by the famous tragedy of Goethe, where the character strikes a deal with the devil, it really reminds of Berserk and how the concept of the God Hand is really similar to this, specifically how Griffith also became one. Do you think Miura was inspired by Faust to do such a thing with his manga, and can we expect more Faustian themes in Berserk?

Faust makes a deal with the Devil in order to accomplish good, however this is a set-up between an angel and the Devil to see whether Faust can be corrupted.

The apostles makes a deal with the godhand (which I guess could be a liaisons for the devil) for their power.

Where Faust was redeemed in the end, I don't think any of the apostles are truly redeemable as they've lost a part of their humanity to become what they are.
