    Re: The Oscars 2013

Les Miserables was nominated for best film? I thought it was total shit (besides Hathaway).

    Re: The Oscars 2013

The way this is always set up is that a few films get nominations in a lot of categories, and they all win one of them, for example I expect Tarantino to win screenplay but his film might win one more award, the way it is set up Amour and Life of Pi will also get one award, they are nominated in a few categories as well.

Amour will most likely win best foreign film seeing as it was both nominated for that plus the best film award. And I think Django might win best screenplay.

Tarantino is like Woody Allen, he may end up with more Screenplay awards than with Director awards. Of course I do think Woody should bring his gear back and start making high art films as he previously did. He has been lacking in recent years.

Yep me too, I also like the Life of Pi strip art; really nicely done, but my favourite would be Django. So Western.

The Academy Awards has unveiled an official poster by Olly Moss.

The artist and graphic designer has paid homage to 85 years of 'Best Picture' Oscars.

So Argo won the BAFTA, but I doubt the Oscars will be similar to the BAFTAs. Though usually they are seen as a preview to the Oscars.

Okay, so I've highlighted my predictions in green for awards to win. It's a mixture of those I want/hope to win and those I think will win because of hype and critical acclaim. We'll see how accurate or close I got.

    Re: The Oscars 2013

Well Lincoln and Life of Pi really have a lot of nominations but it seems they will be in for a ride. A lot of competition, I do expect Life of pi to win some of the "less important" awards. Though Lincoln might grab best director and best actor, so that's really cool.

At what time do the awards start?

    Re: The Oscars 2013

It's quite an open race this year; there's no one film that's out to sweep and landsline the competition. I thought Les Miserables would scoop it all but pre-Oscars awards have not been so kind to them.

The awards show will begin at 7pm ET( midnight GMT) on ABC.

Okay, so let's see how close I was with my predictions: (mine in green, official wins in red. Crossovers in purple)
