in the hiatus/break period Kubo told us that he will explain the Kaien thing. So there is more to it then coincidence or else it wouldnt be mentioned. Also its played out a lot that he looks like him, Rukia,Byakuya and Kaiens former Captain all thought about the resemblance but after the SS arc its never mentioned again.
Another thing is that Kubo has the ability to make characters vary widely in appearance so why would he make them look the same apart from the haircolor? So it serves a purpose we dont know yet but will be explained this arc.

Do u mind posting the script where kubo says that? I must have missed it. Maybe isshin is the head of kiens family but disAppeared. How ever I wonder where everyone is. Are they still eating their bread? I guess since its ichigo they figure he doesn't need help. I wonder if this is where the new shinigamis will display some of their powers or if well have to wait. They must be important since unlike umayama or whatever ichigo calls him really didnt get introduce like they did.

Ichigo esembles Kaien in looks and his rebellious attitude against unfair rules. When Byakuya said that Ichigo was like Kaien, he was thinging about what Ichigo just said about fighting the established rules that he didn't agree with. Ichigo is essentially a revolutionary and Kaien must've been the same, although we haven't seen much of him.

Well, I do remember a character saying it earlier that when souls die they are reborn. So your speculation is a big possibility.

If this is the case then why would Byakuya someone who has been born in SS reject any possibility of Ichigo being related to Kaien if this could be common. Also Rukia keeps her framework as to Kaien = dead. She never thought that Ichigo was Kaien incarnated. And shes been teached at the academy.

Another thing is people look like their parents, relatives in this manga and in this world for Ichigo to look like Kaien for 99% (just his haircolor is different). Sugests a more likely possiblity that Kaien is a relative, and im not talking bout a distant cousin, but more in the line of greatgrandfather or something like that.

Another thing that raises my question about the Shiba is the other part, why is it a fallen house? There used to be 5 great houses but the Shiba fell. clearly being led by a female isnt against the law Yuruichi leads her house if im correct. So did the Shiba or its leader do something unforgivable in the past?

I think it's stupid that we're seeing Ichigo's new bankai design already. If this arc is really going to last 10 years... way too early for that. I wish his bankai got sealed.

I've come up with the same theory, but I haven't posted it, but I have my doubts about it as it was shown, at least in the anime, that Kaien's soul was taken over by a hollow before being purified by Rukia's Zanpakuto.

I bet there will be a third form of release for their Zanpakutous. Or anithing other.
Kubo wont disappoint us readers in his last ark. We just have to wait for his "present".

So many predictions but it's too early to be certain, i had the same "kaien" theory, looking exactly the same can't be just a coincidence, i hope kubo will surprise us with some pleasant facts, but more importantly, with some exciting fights

What Kaien theory would that be?

There are a few facts about the Shiba that stand out and perhaps arnt highlighted as much but could play a role.

-Kaien died leaving no male heir that we know of.
-Kukaku is the current leader sister of Kaien.
-The Shiba are a fallen house, we do not know why. It could be lack of male heir (if Ganju is adopted and not born Shiba ofc).
-The real Shiba in reality was a noble house with claim to royal lineage. A house that fell due to the assassination of its leader and the lack of a heir. Coincidence??

Sidefacts:

-Ichigo looks like Kaien be it his hair is orange.
-Isshin Kurosaki Ichigos father is a captain lvl shinigami, thus outclassing Kaien who was a lt at the time. Granted the timedifference but still.
-Kurosaki as a name is not known in SS, or maybe the Capt Commander knows it but doesnt reveal it.

Speculations:

-Either he was in SS before any of the other captains, or he was at the time not of any importance yet grew his powers outside the SS, still his acquaintance with Urahara destroys that notion.
Option is he is of 0 squad.
-My idea is that the relation Ichigo has with Kaien would run through his mother not his father. And that the 0 squad is there to protect that secret. Protecting the real heir to the Shiba house perhaps? >Ichigo.
- If like i said earlier the Shiba in reality and the Shiba in this story are similar then Ichigo could be if he is descendant of the Shiba as male stake a claim to the throne of SS (the soul king). His blood would be royal and a immediate threat to the other nobles in SS.
In essence if they knew a human halfbreed could inherrit the throne they might kill him? Or would have long ago. Uraharas secret training and him knowing about the hidden power he has of his royal lineage would all fall in place and make sense.

It wouldn't be through his mother since his mother is human. Unless she was given a gigai that made her human. Maybe that was why isshin had no powers during that time. At most she could've been a quincy or a full bringer. which would explain why ichigo had full bringer powers in the first place, that is if what ginjou said is true. Urahara said it's not my fault that your powers are weak, which leads me to believe he had some involvement in it, but isshin made the choice hence why it wasn't urahara's fault.
Whatever happened before ichigo was born must be around the time yuirichi left ss. Why else would she be involved with urahara and isshin? I think that would be the key point that'll be used. i can't be the only person who thinks that there had to be some big reason she just up and left her position....

I doubt isshin will join this arc so soon,unless kubo wants to make a good entry from the beginning. yet,he has already done more than enough to strengthen this arc,so he won't do that imo,at least for the moment.
