I don't have legitimate reasoning on my part that's why I said I didn't know. Anyway if she really is a Titan, then I don't think transforming herself in public would do her any good..

And that is the million dollar question for next chapter if she does indeed transform there - with all those people in hiding - then we can assume that much people are in the know about the truth of titans. However, if she continues to stay human form and only opts to transform when nobody is there then that means those people most likely aren't in the loop about the titans, which looking at the new Royal Guards as well as the seniors it doesn't appear that they are fully aware of the situation since they seem pretty ignorant or in the case of the seniors too engrossed with living in luxury.

However, keep in mind Annie didn't just admit she was the female titan out of the blue remember how the slight conversations between her and Armin went, as well as Mikasa's own reaction. Mikasa had figured out immediately the words of Armin which he himself was in denial about so Annie basically snapped him out of it by admitting to their encounter previously - which only he would know given how he was spared by the female titan. Only Eren was too slow to realize things - its little wonder why he keeps getting the shorter end of the stick.

The last two chapters literally gave me goosebumps. In respect to plot development, so much happened. Now we know who is the female Titan. Honestly, I was not surprised. She looked different in a troubling way from the start. What now needs to be answered, is how she was made a Titan and who did that. The diabolic expressions on her face were pure win.

I have to thank the Manga Helpers community. I never would of discovered this Manga if it wasn't on the front page of Manga Helpers. This manga is awesome and this chapter was great. The human/titan fight really did remind me of the training and its clear that it was supposed to. Doubt she'll transform within the walls though, that would risk exposing herself to others not aware of her. I'm guessing all those guys hiding are going to ambush our protagonists anyway so she has no need for the titan transformation.

I'm really surprised this is Shounen though, with people getting eaten all the time. Reading this I get a gritty, dark, Berserk-like feeling and its great. My only wish is that the art was a little more consistent when it comes to how people look or people's proportions. From reading this manga it seems the humanoid titans get all the love from the artist because they always look drawn beautifully. I guess the art will continue to gradually get better as I've noticed from reading chapter 1 - 31 in a day.

Hi guyz, i've a little question: up to date (chapter 31), the secret documents of Eren's father are still in the basement of their house in the area between the first (outest) and second ring wall right? I can't remember if this plot was abandoned or developed in a past chapter.

I do not think Annie will transform in the street, with everyone watching. I do not think there is any point to it, I doubt she plans on fighting, so it would make little sense to reveal her Titan form to all and sundry. She and her companions probably want to be able to blend into the populace, the army, and the government. Exsposing herself as a Titan could lead to their conspiracy being revealed.

I suspect her companions are based in the tunnels she led Eren to. While in theory he could use the tunnels to escape the Empire, the same tunnels could lead him directly to those who ordered Annie to transform and capture him.

Not forgotten, no. The notes do remain in the basement of Eren's house, outside of Wall Rose. The last sortie of the Scouting Legion was not intended to go all the way to Eren's house. The stated goal was that it was a test run before escorting Eren back to his house. The real goal was to flush out whomever killed the two captured titan's. Ultimately the goal was to force Annie to reveal herself and they were successful. Actually reaching Eren's house is something for later in the manga. Whatever is written in those documents is to important to reveal 31 chapters into the series.

with all this titan control...comments toward the colossal and armored titan being human...i'm getting a funny feeling eren's father is one of them if not both.it was just to convienant that he left just hours(i would guess)before the attack on the wall.quote me now guys...his basement is a titan training facility(of a sort).ultimately,this is where eren will truely master titan control...until then he's going to be the lame.

Ooohh i just analyzed the chapter again and realized everything, guys you dont got whats happening. Rivaille made a plan, a false talk of the scout legion with the king, then the Annie squad will protect them while they cross the town. But why they need to go with 3d maneuver? because their purpose was to catch our lovely female type. Rivaille had the idea of a false Eren escape, and made Armin ask for Annie's help. The people hiding are who? the scout legion ready to catch Annie. Why Annie would transform inside the walls? because she already got it all, she realized whats happening. Thats why she said: "you cornered me" she is goin to transform not to kill eren and cia for anger, but transforming to survive/dont get caught. Bingo!

OBS: have you seen she puttin the ring while talking with armin? the ring has some importance about her transformation i think...like eren transformed acidentaly just to catch a spoon, you need a STRONG reason to transform intentionally i think, his reason may be something about that ring, something conected with her past that make her know that she need to fight

Finish reading up to the latest chapter in less than 4 hours I got to say great manga it had the Gantz feeling when I read this... When will the new chapter be release? The last chapter ended in a cliffhanger

There is little doubt that Eren's father is one of the conspirators leading the Titans. As you said it is a little to convenient that he fled just before the Colossal Titan returned. He also had access to serum that turned Eren into a Titan and his lab contains research notes that should be the key to defeating the titans. I am not sure he is the Colossal Titan himself but I am sure he has taken the serum and can transform into a Titan.

New issues of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine come out every month on the 9th. Expect new chapters with a day or two, usually no later than the the 11th of the month.

i don't know kaiten...look at how his father and the colossal made there appearance...short with little hints.the colossal went for the weak spot of the wall(without trying another spot) and eren's father mentioned the basement thingy(like he was expecting something).now we see that titans can be controled/summoned...to me...he seem like the most likely perpartraitor.i'm thinking that he set up the whole mikasa incident to see how eren reacted...only to decide to make his son a titan...not anticipating his son would go through what he has.the itachi to sasuke syndrome...

Annie cant fight angry mikasa with swords at human form, trust me.

Why would they ask for help of someone that tried to kidnap eren? and why escape from rivaile if he's objetictive is to go at erens basement? they cant do this alone, their only hope is rivaile squad. And, if they trust rivaille and he wants to catch the female type, they obviously telled him that the titan is annie. annie looked at the direction of the hiding people several times, she knows that her only choice is a suicidal attack as a titan
, if they catch her alive shes goin to be interrogated or even tortured to tell everything. and her hand near the mouth is the signal that shes going to bite it. Whatever its scout legion or MP hiding, its a trap to catch her

One thing I do wonder is why are there civilians mixed into the fray given the possible danger of the situation - only thing I can think of is that clearly Armin hasn't informed anyone of his suspicions about Annie (which based on Mikasa and his reactions are something they only openly realize on this chapter). Its times like these I wish his art has somewhat more clarity since these details are something I tend to gloss over given how sketchy they tend to look even on HQ scans LOL.

Edit: I guess that means she never sold out Armin but... would she actually dare to transform INSIDE the city I can see she has necessity to but I'm sure we can all figure out the consequences of doing so... But if indeed they already had a grasp of Annie being the female titan and approached her for that purpose then it does sort of make sense why they would mix civilians in with the mission as it would certainly win over the trust of people again to their side should they discover something this controversial.

Still the plan seemed rather impromptu given how it seemed that their objective was to save Eren - he was after all to be shipped away from the scouting legion because of the mission failure so they did need to save him - not necessarily to trap and capture the female titan. If indeed they wanted to do both or rather three things at once, namely save Eren, capture the female titan, and regain citizens trust, in one fell swoop you'd have to be a tactical genius and one hell of a gambler (especially if you're basing off mere speculation of who the female titan is). So I'm somewhat doubtful that the actual plan was for the capture of the female titan - I'm more inclined to think at the moment that the scouting legion there was merely a fool proof plan should Annie have sold them out. Just so happens that they accidentally hit the jackpot in that they also found out who the female titan was and have the chance to capture her, I mean Armin clearly had his doubts but he was in denial and given how Mikasa only seems to have figured it out with the flow of the conversation I'm not sure that Armin particularly told anyone regarding his concerns especially since the focus of the legion was rescuing Eren. Asking someone you believe entirely to be the female titan would be counter-intuitive unless of course you're in denial as Armin was, and I'm doubtful he would use Eren as bait again the way Irvin did.

I wouldn't say it was impromptu. Eren and co were clearly the ones who were leading her down the passage. At that moment and after those curious Q & A between Annie and Armin, she knew what was up. It's crazy how fast they came up with the plan though, no doubt credit goes to Armin for his quick thinking.

I don't think Annie will transform (she should know what the consequences are). As long as she doesn't, they don't have definite proof against her. She's skilled in combat so I'm sure she can hold her own against them. For how long though remains the question.

EDIT: Reading the last half again, the last panel looks like she's motioning to bite her hand. And I don't get the dialogue reading it a second time. It's almost like Eren and them were trying to save Annie (rather than the reverse) by persuading her follow them down the passage. Now that would be a confusing plot twist.
