^^^ Summer Wars was awesome!! ^^^
I'm not a big fan of movie spin-offs from anime series - the stories usually suck since the writers of the manga they're based on don't write it, so it feels more like a filler - but they don't offend me either lol. The animation's usually great and sometimes there's some good fights. Also, they play up to the fans so all the main/most popular characters are almost always in 'em, so I'm gonna take all four main characters being in for granted, plus Hisoka. For me the best part of this news is that it means the anime must be doing great to get a movie this quickly!! Like you said, Divinenega, this as good as confirms that there series'll get another 26 episodes.
Sweet! Wasn't expecting this at all but it's awesome news.
Even if we get basically an extended filler episode on the big screen I say if it brings in more fans to HxH than go for it. I dunno but I feel as if HxH is really an
under appreciated series. People will say the same thing of the Big Three but while I do enjoy the Big Three there's a reason they are called the Big Three
and that is they are extremely popular. I would say even One Piece in the United States is more popular than Hunter x Hunter is.
And while I don't care if a series is popular or not in order for it to be good I do think that popular series get the royal treatment which HxH deserves.
Hopefully it goes like this
Non HxH Fan: Hm this looks interesting. I'll go watch.
Non HxH Fan: That was cool...what there is two anime series and a manga. I'll go check them out
Non HxH Fan officially becomes HxH fan. Spreads the good news. Fans multiply like flies. Monies.
Corporate People: Money! Money! Moneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Smart Dude: If you make more HxH you make more money
Corporate People: Alright! Do it! Re-Print volumes! Digital volumes! Video Games and Sandwiches
Sandwich Maker: HURRAY FOR SUPPLY AND DEMAND
LIZARD LENNY: I DEMAND YOUR SOULSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Lizard Lenny takes over the planet. Can sandwich man stop him?
As long as they don't screw up Nen System, I'm thrilled. <3
you know what would be nice?
Seeing Leorio fight in the movies. He don't need to kick ass just fight...
BUT HE WILL KICK ASS CUZ HE'S LEORIO!
I agree, a Leorio fight would be great, but without his new Hatsu idk how exciting it will be.
I don't really think Kuwabara and Leorio are that comparable in terms of combat. Kuwabara had plenty of on screen multiple chapter length fights in YYH. Regardless yea, Leorio needs time to shine! But I also want some good Hisoka fanservice too. Maybe get some of the Zoldyeck family in there? I would love if Togashi had some hand in the plot for this movie.
Any normal but strong human fighter will do good. Leorio has his switchblade which would make for a cool animated fight.
It doesn't need to involve nen or that much nen. If the animation is good it will be very exciting. In fact I say it will be more interesting
because it puts Leorio at a greater risk.
Of course Gon and Killua's fights will be even MORE exciting but that's to be expected.
I don't mind a movie, as long as they don't tone down the violence, I'm fine with whatever the plot may be. It would be great, if this movie takes place in between the Celestial Tower arc and York Shin arc IMO. This way we could see some fights.
I would love to see Maha vs. Netero fight animated or some interesting story about Zoldycks or the fight between Kurata clan vs. Spiders (we would see some new faces, e.g. the Spider that Hisoka killed) or Hisoka's background or some other blast from the past but that's unrealistic unfortunately :/. Probably Gon, Killua, Kurapica and Leorio will be saving some girl from bandits or something.
I'm sure the movie will have plenty of fighting and action. But I doubt we're going to be seeing mortal kombat blood and guts.

I would only want all that if Togashi was the creative force behind it. I don't want fiiller screwing with the continuity of the story.
I wonder though... when will that movie be set? Gon and folks are basically busy all the time, there are no time-skips that I can think of. The only time I remember is during the weeks where Gon and Killua bet on who can get the highest amount of money.
Though I think it'll be something more along the lines of the DBZ movies: alternate universes which don't fit in canon at all.
Anyway, I'm excited about it!
It will probably placed anywhere, in the sense that it's not placed in a fixed time in the HxHverse.
I'm kinda hoping against hope there'll be Genei Ryodan in it, but there's virtually no chance of that happening.
