It's from Sket Dance, you should check out the anime/manga. I guess you know about it but just in case, it's a comedic slice-of-life and while I really enjoy the humor the serious parts are the strongest points of the series. If you start to watch/read it, go on until the Kaimei Rock Festival/Switch Off arc. Seriously, there's no way one doesn't enjoy these two Arcs but if you really don't then you should drop it.

When you describe the series like that, it sounds better. I have nothing against bromance, but the Wikipedia article made it seem like she was a token love interest than a central character. Not that I have a problem with token love interests, but I feel bad that its her only role in the story. If I shipped the two male characters together it would be making her irrelevant.

From what I have been able to read she is a legitimate character, not a throw in. She is something of a plot mover so far. She's definitely not like the girls from Hitman Reborn or Lenalee.

Again!! Sounds cool, I might check it out because the heroine is described as a bitch. I love not-so-nice heroines.

I have a love/hate relationship with pre-shipping. Sometimes its O.K., but most of the time it feels like "telling" and not "showing", which is a real let down. Oh God, I'm a total shipping purist, aren't I.

It is not quite as obvious a ship as Allen x Kanda or Gokudera x Tsuna, but it's still a pretty obvious pairing. Can hardly fault them, fujoshi can make a break a manga. I don't care what fanboys say, Naruto owes a good deal of it's success in Japan to yaoi shipping.

so you like detective stories? Definitely nice if executed well but I often find myself having a very high expectation and then being disappointed. Those stories need to be really good to keep me captivated. Should I check out Neuro?

A good mystery to me is one that is both surprising and satisfying. Even if it ends up being something like a husband killing his wife, I want to be surprised that it was him (because he seemed innocent) and satisfied knowing his dark side came to light. When a mystery isn't surprising half the fun is gone, really. Columbo is great because it actually flips the murder mystery formula on its head: You know who did it within the first five minutes of the show, the rest of it is about how the murderer tries and fails to get away with it.

I'd recommend Neuro in a heartbeat, but its not really a mystery manga. I mean, it has tons of mysteries that the hero and heroine solve, but its more about Neuro's relationship with humans, with a bunch of sadism thrown in.

Cricket is the most popular sport in Pakistan, and in its original British raj form its quite boring. A single match can last 3 days. But the ICC have updated the sport to have One Day Internationals (4~5 hrs) as well as Twenty-20s (1.5 to 2 hours). I find cricket interesting because when you are up to bat you aren't acting alone - you have a batting partner. Also, the way players get out is more interesting than in baseball, personally.

So are you religious or just interested in religion? History was my favourite subject in school, it really is interesting. You can learn such a lot of things just looking at what happened in the past. What's your favourite historical time frame? The Greeks? Rome? Or something more medieval?

I'm not sure if I can answer this properly. Probably both and neither. I'm not sure how religious I am at all!

Funny that you say that--I was totally oblivious to AllenKanda when I started reading D.Gray-man. Totally and completely oblivious. You could have shown me the mangaka walking down the street wearing a shirt saying "AllenKanda" and I'd pretty much not believe you. The fact that I liked a hetero ship fuelled my ignorance as well, which made the whole experience really awful. But now that I get it I feel ashamed I didn't see it to begin with. Allen/Kanda is definitely one of the reasons volume 23 sold so well recently and it is also the reason I've been less interested in D.Gray-man as of late.

I was to naive to realize when I first read DGM. I was a manga noob and knew nothing of shipping, let alone yaoi. In retorspect it is obvious that Hoshino was openly courting fujoshi. That has only become more obvious since the move to SQ. Her art style now looks like something straight out of Comic Zero Sum.
