Who should've joined the Strawhats from the ones who were left behind?

This may be a little out of the question but I think the crew member they lack is Kinemon (the samurai head).

Ussop - Sniper
Sanji - Cook
Nami - Navigator
Chopper - Doctor
Robin - Archaeologist
Franky - Shipwright
Brook - Musician
Kinemon - Tailor or Clothes maker

We already saw him make clothes out of leaves or stones.

Gin and Waiper... and Alvida, if that were even an option (initially she was chasing Luffy because she admired him as the first man to ever punch her. Maybe she would have joined if asked). Gin and Waiper were perhaps the physically strongest normal people the strawhats met, as well as krieg, miss monday, pell and chaka.

It might be great to see Wiper in the crew, especially as he was quite strong. I would say that during Skypea Arc he might have been at the same level as Luffy or maybe just a bit lower, but surely stronger than Zoro. And I really liked his style and his physical capacities and his Burn Bazooka was just insane. He might be a great addition to the crew even now.

Nah, these complex badasses are only interesting because they're running their own crew. Especially the ones we know nothing about like Bonney and Law. Bonney especially makes no sense, going from acting like a smartass on Sabaody to attacking Blackbeard. But then supposedly those guys were made up by Oda 5 minutes before a deadline so who knows...

I'd love to know if the original thing Luffy said was 'exactly 10 people' or 'about/ at least' or whatever. The reason this manga seems like every detail was planned from the start even though it was written by an 18yr-old Dragon Ball fan with sub-Kenshin level of character design originality was because he left room to come up with better ideas when his skills improved later (which is quite rare thinking about it). So even deciding on a small crew, it would be weird to limit it to an exact number.

Jinbei and Bon Clay seem certain but I thought the same about Hachi at least twice. I can see the Samurai joining, depending what happens to his son. Kuma wouldn't add much, Franky's already ripped off most of his skills and teleportation makes travel too easy = boring. Would be interesting to recruit some1 like Koala further into the New World, but if she grew up with any balls she's probably with the revolutionaries by now.

I've always had this wish to see Hancock join the crew but for some reason something tells me that we will never see her join the Strawhats. Besides, there are a lot of complications with her joinning the crew, being one of them the fact that she is a Shichibukai just to protect her island, but there are plenty of other problems, especially in terms of crew relationship. The positives with Hancock joinning the crew would be having another woman, which could balance things a bit in terms of genders (having 7 men and 3 women seems pretty decent to me) and it would be kind of fun seeing some Nami/Luffy/Sanji/Hancock moments.

Other than that, I am pretty sure a fishman will join the crew and everything points out to that fishman being Jinbei. I could see a former marine joinning too, some people seem to point to Aokiji as a candidate, but it seems to me he might be a little bit too powerfull...However, it's true that as time goes by and Luffy grows closer to reaching his goal, he will need to have a powerfull crew if he wants to be the pirate king, if you look at Gol D Roger's crew and Whitebeard's crew, both of their crew were made of powerfull pirates.

I don't know about the samurai, I am not very fond of his character yet...but we'll see, perhaps he'll grow on me as time goes by.

the only one that was left behind and should definitly join the crew is jimbie because he has great fighting skills and when the crew are out in the ocean and get attacked jimbie can just dive in the sea and attack the other ships

Seriously, my biggest wish was for Hancock-dono do join the crew! I've always looked at her as the perfect addition! Too bad Luffy is a retard and refused to marry her. Imo, after all she'd done for him, he should have treated her way more gently. Luffy behaved like an ass, imo.

Marring would accomplish what exactly? She would still have to stay at Amazon Lilly to keep her tribe save from the WG. Luffy was thankful, but he has no intention being bound like that right now. And it would take away from funny situations as with Luffy and Shirahoshi.

Its nostalgic thinking about how at the beginning of every arc chess4 comes up with 20 different characters that will be the next strawhat I think people like Vivi and Jinbei will always be strawhats and will show up on their side in the end even if they won't be traveling together. I'd really have liked it if Bon Clay joined though... at least I'm glad that he isn't dead.

Jinbei is possible going to join after the Big Mam battle. Maybe he'll even take part in the battle

I've always wanted Jinbei to join the SH's. There have been times I doubted it, other times super excited and confident it'll happen for sure only for Oda to tease me into thinking I'm right when I'm (currently) wrong. xDDDDD~!

I really hope he does join up with the SH's after the Big Mom arc/face off. It's just meant to be in my eyes.

BTW, I'm ASHAMED we all forgot about Bon Kurei.
And yes, I know about that 10th thing theory. I actually believe that after Jinbei there will be at least one more. Will hold some comments that belongs to the Next Nakama thread, though.

Out of all the friends the SH's have left behind that was the one person I thought would eventually find themselves as part of the crew some way or another. I was a bit skeptical at first during the early chapters during the Impel Down Arc but his character grew on me. I'm sure we'll see him team up with Luffy again in the future. =D

Jimbe is a must. Everyone totally wants him to join the SH.
It seems Kinemon will be the next, he's developed quite a close relationship with the SH (especially Sanji).

Jewelry Bonney would be good, she has a different character and seems quite strong, but I doubt we'll see her much (hope but doubt). I hope it won't be Vivi, Shirahoshi or Hancock - they have their own countries to take care of. Could be Perona, but she doesn't seem all that keen of bright places

btw Luffy said he wants at least 10 crew members (exactly 10 is too little for a pirate king), so the numbers are still fine...

Well, I always thought that Jewelry Boney would join right after she was captured by Blackbeard and then the Government. On the cover that Oda drew, we could see that she has seemingly escaped so the thought still lingers.

Another person that I would see joining is Marguerite. She was one of the most interested in seeing the world. Seeing it in Hancock's crew is interesting, but even more so would be seeing it by Luffy's crew. That or Hancock, but with 2 former Shichibukai on the crew it would be way overpowered xD

Another person that I'd like to see joining is Bon-chan. The guy made the ultimate sacrifice for Luffy. Twice.

Kuma would also be a nice addition since he isn't the perfect PX but rather a strong one. Though, he probably belongs with the Revolutionaries.

Jinbe will eventually join during or after the Big Mom incident. Thinking of which, the Big Mom incident might not happen after all. Lets not forget that Lola gave her mother's vivre card to Nami and it seems like she is a great pirate. Plus Lola and Charlotte LinLin seems like a mother daughter name connection.

Perona would also be a great addition to the crew. The funny moments would never cease with her and Zoro's interaction xD

Vivi? No. She'll always be a Nakama, but not a crew member. She has her country to rule.
