    Help with translating ?

    Can somebody help me with translating.

    And why are some Kanji written so small ? Like a superscript.

    (Maybe the term "lost" is not fitting this sentence properly. "now-lost.." ?)

    I think you mean furigana written on the side of the kanji.

    Furigana is exactly what I mean.
    They are only used for pronunciation, right ?

    well, it's mostly used for easier way to pronounce/read in Shonen manga and children books. Sometimes furigana is also used for difficult kanji on books, newspaper, magazines... not even adult can read every kanji. LOL
