Genre fiction must be comparable to literature if it is to have any merit. Storytelling does not make concessions based on genre, nor does the language change based on audience. Hmm it's kinda a long story. But when I was hired on one of the sites , the person who hired me was great, my work was easy cuz we communicated. Then because of RL he disappeared leaving th site to another person with whom communicating was impossible.... but after a few months he started making the tasks properly not being so clumsy and with his head up in the clouds and such but then lately he got fed up with managing two sites and gave one up [I work on both] to this total JERK who I freaking hate and I want to smash his ballz with Thor's hammer! ...but yea... He has no idea how to lead a team , doesn't take advice neither. Doesn't reply to messages bla bla only comes online when he needs you to do something but if you need him for something he's nowhere to be found....

But anyway , point is I don't like him one bit.And I've been trying to convince the second owner to find someone else cuz this dude sucks...but they're friends IRL and he wants to help him out...anyway in the end the first owner appeared a few months ago. And last night I had a small quarrel with this dude I don't like and told the first owner about it and he went and held my side .
And that brought my mood up a bit. Cuz I'm too nice to tell him to his face I don't like him and that he's an idiot and ha no idea how to lead a team. And this other dude Seb told him for me and it made me laugh cuz he was so shocked...and he also wanted to fire me at some point but couldn't XDDDD cuz I'm awesome XDD

BUT THEN after a few hours. A friend with whom I haven't talked in years came online on skype. She used to live in France cuz she went to uni here but was originally from China and a few years she went back home. And since then I haven't been able to talk to her and I was sad cuz she was a good friend and I missed her so when she messaged me tpday I was SO FREAKING HAPPY! And she gave me her phone number so that we can still communicate even if she's not on the comp and I'm just very happy about it... I hate going out of touch with friends because of distance....

It's all well and good that his friend wants to help him out but letting those personal and business lines cross is always very risky and in this case, the dude turned out to be a jerk to the workers. I hope the work situation gets sorted out so can just get on with your job.

Glad to hear that you're in touch with your friend again, I have the same problems with friends who live in London. Just tonight I went to visit one of my oldest friends that I hadn't seen since his wedding in the summer and I don't really see him often since I left London in 2007. It was really good to spend time with him and another very close friend from our childhood, reminiscing about our youth Hopefully now that you have her number, you'll be in touch more

OOOOOOOOOOOOO Guess what I SLEPT TODAY!!! from like 4 pm till 8 or 9 I forgot exactly

but now I'm not sleepy at all and will probably waste another night.... I really need not to sleep during the day today so I can be tired at night and rest well... and I only have one more thing to work on that is urgent then I can take a few days break to recharge my batteries ^_^


and I'm sorry ... I talk too much I know TAT I can't shake the habit !

Well genre literature derived from the basics of literature. One could not say that the works of Jules Verne can be seen as candid novels and such, to please the audience, or the works of Agatha Christie which are also placed to please a certain audience that enjoys detective fiction. It is the way those genres deal with the issue the literary work places on the reader and on itself.

Like for example, Edgar Allan Poe, who wrote detective and horror stories, which can now be considered as a "sell-buy" type of literature to please the audience were in fact made so that the author can portray his tragical life and suffering via those genres. But genres never really fit into the grand view of belles letters. They are often ridiculed and satirized, examples:

Don Quixote - Chivalric romance, Gulliver's Travels - Adventure Novel (Travel novel), Candide - Popular philosophy fiction of the day.

All questioned the trends, and popular stuff to read at the day. I find this a good way of producing individuality and resisting what is popular with what is ones own personal taste or belief.

the Well V. is friends with R.[the jerk] IRL and he said that ryn's not that bad and such and that he'll talk to him to straighten him out and bla bla ... but oh well if things continue to go this way I already told V. I'll leave and not go back until there's a different admin. But I'm so glad Seb told him how I feel about him and he also told him he'd better communicate with me cuz I feel unappreciated and I'm also the only CG artist the site has left and I pixel too...

Yeah I'm glad too , I was so happy! we never met IRL but we talked like daily with another 2 friends on skype for years and years and it was so much fun and we used to send each other post cards and all sorts of stupid gifts through the post xDDD fun times

You're sort of bloviating here. No one said the comparison couldn't be made, a novel is a novel just like you said. I said a comparison of novels within a particular genre makes sense to me because that's what we were doing. I wasn't comparing GRRM to Tolstoy, it was to Tolkien. Yet, you still haven't read A Song of Ice and Fire so you're just making an assumption, which may not be incorrect, but it's still only an assumption.

The simplest answer is the correct one...Occam's razor

It's the same with symbols like a Swastika or an Petrine Cross. The former is more about stigma around more common/recent usage and the latter is just a misconception. Swastikas were used all over the place in the Western world for stylistic reasons in fact. Not like it's missed or anything though.
