Re: [Featured] Hyouge Mono: Tea for Universe, Tea for Life by Yamada Yoshihiro

I seriously need to catch up on Far East history, more so Japanese, I find my lack of knowledge in these things effecting my opinion on historical manga set in Japan. Perhaps it comes down to my understanding of them. Is this a good manga to start reading and at the same type learning about said history?

I would not use a manga to learn history. If you are just looking for a quick introduction to better understand the characters I would wikipedia them as you read. While not a great source for term papers it should be enough to get a better appreciation for who they are and the time period in which they lived.

Oh, I meant reading the manga while learning the history separate. And my primary source will be a book rather than the Internet about it, indeed. Though I think I will certainly like these series, what is more disturbing is that fact that I will not understand then due to the history involved, which will ruin my reading overall.

Well this series also stopped with the releases, I just got reminded of this while browsing the volume cover thread, I guess the group gave up on it since it is too much to catch up to. D: Any news?
