Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito
Title: Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito
Genres: Action, Drama, Science, Fantasy, Supernatural, Mecha
The side story takes place in 2017 a.t.b., around the time Lelouch took on the alter-ego “Zero” and built up his “Black Knights” rebellion army. The setting is in Europe, where the Euro Universe (E.U.) allied nations are being invaded by the overwhelming forces of the Holy Britannian Empire. On the verge of defeat, the E.U. army forms a special division known as “W-O″, of which a young pilot named Akito Hyuuga is a member. Layla Malkal , a former Britannian Aristocrat comes to the E.U.'s aid, commanding the “Wyvern” Knightmare corps comprised of Japanese teenagers. They recklessly plunge into a battlefield, where the survival rate is extremely low, at about 5% only. They fight for their freedom, and for a "home" to which they can return.

I love it. As a fan of Code Geass, I really like this new series. It is a shorter series, with only 4 episodes, though only 1 out so far. Each episode is around 50 minutes long. The first episode is as usual an opening to the plot. The artwork improved, especially the motion. Look at how they draw and make the Knightmare moves! The music is also done pretty good. I like the action, and the usual dark atmosphere around Code Geass, although Geass is not yet much used here. Many questions, and looking forward to how the next episodes will answer them all.
Hoo so you're watching it too? I have to say the first episode didn't impress me that much. The artwork was good but the plot was a bit slow and I felt like I cared a lot less because of no Lelouch and other great characters =/
this whole "we hate japanese" feels forced to, why did they travel to such a faraway country to get the same kind of treatment?
Too early to judge though and

Of course I watch it too. I'm Lulu's loyal follower. <3
I can see that part. I was confused as well, since this new series integrated E.U. to Britannia and Japan. I was first confused as to how Japanese could end up helping E.U. before I saw that they came to seek for help. I think they wanted help from E.U., and as mentioned by Layla E.U. didn't want to sacrifice their soldiers so they took Japanese men.
Code Geass would never be the same without Lulu. Still I'm looking forward to how Akito would fare in this world of geass. Who knows we may find a tint of Lulu in Akito, lol. Especially with what you said inside of spoiler. <3
