I still dont understand how Izanami got Kabuto. Unless it works the exact same way as Izanagi, then there is no other explanation as to how he was caught.

I actually wish Kabuto comes out and rips them new bumcheeks. I dont want him to get humiliated now.

I don't know what amazes me more, that Kishi ripped off the movie Groundhog Day or that people most people seem to be ok with it.

I expected I probably wasn't going to like how this fight was going to end the moment I heard the word Izanami. And I thought that I was sufficiently prepared for that eventuality; apparently I was wrong. I mean, a time loop? REALLY!?

*sigh* Naruto has sunk to a new low....

I haven't watched the movie,but really,it's not like Kishi was the first to use this concept.Some people mentioned that it was used in Yu Yu Hakusho for example.It was used in D.Gray-Man.There is even a one-shot called Loop.Furthermore,Kishimoto added this whole deciding destiny thing,so I don't see so much wrong with it.

There probably is a way to escape Izanami. It probably has something to do with those crow feathers that follow Kabuto's feet. I just want the explanation next chapter of this stupid technique so the story can progress. For the past 2 months I've felt like I'm in a freaking time loop reading Naruto.

There is no way it's a "you can't do shit beside obeying me" jutsu.

The panel with the 3 horns (if that is what those 2 other "rocks" are) would be insignificant then.
I think Izanami recorded a situation in those horns. (ie, everytime Kabuito is hurt, Izanami is cast and creates a layer of genjutsu. Kabuto needs to "win" the inner fight 3 times (because he lost 3 horns) without receiving any injury to get out. This would be like a mental Izanagi.

Or he can cancel Edo Tensei, which will make Itachi and his jutsu disappear.

I didn't say it's an obey me jutsu. It's a this will happen over and over again and there's nothing you can do unless I stop it jutsu. The jutsu was already in effect when the horn was cut. 3 times is just how many times it repeated this chapter before Kabuto just gave up or whatever. The horn has nothing to do with it. If that was the case, then the water drop had something to do with it, too, and Itachi constantly getting stabbed. All of that was to illustrate a loop of some sort was happening.

Itachi set up a specific time-span that kabuto is trapped in. If Kabuto happens to nail Itachi, everything is reset and they go at it again. Therefore, kabuto has no choice but to do what Itachi needs him to do.

And it wasn't just any old Suiton technique. It was a powerful one that was more than a match for the Uchiha's jutsu. Suigetsu may be a part of it, but I think it somewhat gives more credence to my pet theory too... that Kabuto could be related to Tobirama. The high level suiton technique was something:

What he has in common with the second Hokage so far is Edo Tensei, strong Suiton and maybe hair color (ha!). And he is a sage now with an affinity to natural energy. I think it's somewhat of a big deal tha the used an elemental jutsu just now. Not saying it's true, but just a thought... he could be a descendent of the second Hokage and he'll remember something about it.

nice theory,although it's quite unlikely. I wonder what the flashback of last week was: there was a young kabuto running,but it should have been before he met nonou,which is technically impossible since kabuto himself stated that he has no memory before their meeting.

I'm sure it will be axplained next chapter. I just think it's hilarious what the technique seems to be doing.

I dont think Itachi has thought this one through.

Kabuto can simply cancel Edo tensei and resummon the souls again later.

I have some doubts that cancelling Edo Tensei will cancel Itachi. Kabuto should be able to cancel them one at a time and summon them one at a time. If he could cancel Itachi, he already would have because what Kabuto wants more is Sasuke and obtaining him would be infinitely easier without having to deal with Itachi. Shisui's genjutsu broke Itachi free from Kabuto's control and I imagine then that it's completely free of it. So that's why Kabuto didn't just cancel the jutsu and then go for Sasuke - be cause he couldn't. And at this point if Kishimoto were to make Kabuto do something like this, then he really would have trolled us! lol

Its been a long long time since i last posted (used to post a bit around chapter 400 or so cant remember exactly). I mostly lurk now but i wanted to post this.

Kabuto has long been a favourite of mine and the way this character has been made fun of doesnt really fly with me. But anyway its kishi's manga and all the power to him.

This war has been terrible as far as i am concerned and then treating a very good character like kabuto and orochimaru before him as fodder for uchicha techniques is really really idiotic.... but like i said its kishi's manga.

I am among those few individuals who actually liked the flashbacks because like i said kabuto is among my favourite characters and i wanted to know more about him

For me the manga has sunk to a new low but i guess in a different way than for you but anyhoo thats my 2 cents out of the way.

It wasn't so much a dislike of the flashbacks - they brought great information about Orochimaru and others. But it's the tie-in to Kabuto. There just wasn't a huge connection to me, with Kabuto that made me care a lot about him... until more of the fight and flashback where I could kind of come up with a small, pet-theory about who are his true descendents and his real background. In a way, I think (or hope) Kishimoto will tie it up in a neat, cool way. But who knows. Either way, Kabuto has to be more than just some orphan with amnesia that is now stuck in Groundhog Day no jutsu.

What's wrong with the time loop ? It makes sense with the concept of Izanami.

It's not like everyone has your reference, I didn't watch this movie, yet I'm no stranger to time loop at all...it's not like this movie was the only one behind it. And Ksihi is japanese so I don't even know if himself knows this movie.

I must say, I'm kind of disappointed in what has transpired. And though Izanami kind of makes sense compared to Izanagi I have a few questions that urke me...

1. How does Itachi know about it?

2. How didn't Danzo know about it? If he used Izanami against Sas or Tobi then...especially with so many eyes at his disposal

3. How come Itachi didn't use it in the past, like against Sasuke? If his eyes are fading anyway, why not?

4. Now we know Edo Itachi eyes don't fade because he's used techniques so many times...will his eyes come back? Does it take longer to regen the eyes?

5. I think Itachi can control the Genjutsu inside Kabuto which makes it like Tsukuyomi...except I think tsukuyomi drains Itachi's real life chakra where Izanami just drains his eyes...this has to be because otherwise how else would he be able to make Kabuto un edo everything

6. Kabuto has to find a way out...without Edos the war is basically over and Sasuke is on the 'good side' all of a sudden

7. Still no explanation of Tsukuyomi against Sasuke

8. How did Kabuto get caught in the Genjutsu anyway? Seems like a hax technique

9. Uchicha has been haxing all over the place...and of course there's Tobi and Madara, wtf is with the hacking of the story line lol

The animators for Naruto have an opportunity to make this chapter really really stand out if they show Kabuto's torment correctly. I remember thinking how amazing yet evil Kurama's sinning tree was. Hopefully, when they animate this chapter I get the same feeling about Itachi.

where did you see that the sharingan is lost?

2nd to last panel, his eye looks just like when he went blind vs sasuke. hmm so yea maybe he is blind, maybe the kaleidoscope is instantly lost when u use izanami.
