    Translating help

I tried searching for this ガッチガッチ and I can't figure out what means, only managed to figure out some words in the sentence and nothing more:

    組手.乱取りを ガッチガッチに やるんだからな!!

    組手( くみて)
    乱取(らんど)

Could someone help me with this sentence.

    EDIT:

I could translate a little more:

    組手.乱取りを ...
Be it a practice or a real fight...

    ---------- Post added May 19, 2012 at 02:35 PM ---------- Previous post was May 17, 2012 at 05:39 PM ----------

I think I got it, maybe the sentence can be like this:

    組手.乱取りを ガッチガッチに やるんだからな!!
This is no practice, this is a real fight, so let's stop the chattering and let's continue!

    Re: Translating help

So now, the translation change completely, I think the the sentence would be now:

    組手.乱取りを ガッチガッチに やるんだからな!!
This is not a practice or a mock fight, so let's stop the chattering and let's continue!

Where did you get NOT? Rando is a form of a (free-style) practice, so I just wondered why you use negative NOT in your sentence.

    edit/add:
My impression of ガッチガチis doing something intensely. Maybe it can be replaced by しっかりと or something.

    Re: Translating help

Welll, I thought that sentece could be interpreted that way, I'm going to post all the sentence complete (the first part I didn't think was necessary):

    空手や 柔術のように
    組手.乱取りを ガッチガッチに やるんだからな!!

And now using your impressions, I translated it this way:

In jujutsu like you in karate, I'm doing an intensive training!

In jujutsu like you in karate <--- ???
Like Karate and Jujutsu
    AやBのように:(just) like A and B

    I'm doing an intensive training!
You should translate these, or at least add of kumite* and randori* after training and add a footnote for each word*.

The subject can be you (or we) instead of "I." (やるんだからな doesn't give me an impression that "I" is the subject.)
Also, it's most likely will be doing instead of 'm doing.

    Re: Translating help

I though to translate like that because of the context, on the previous scene, the main character asumed the other guy was underestimating jujutsu, so I thought that the previous translation was the most appropriated, but how about this:

Like karate and jujutsu, we will be doing and intensive sparring or a mock combat.

    we will be doing and

----> we will be practicing (will practice - is fine, too), or we will be doing
    ---->
