Well, that mad scientist captain ought to have developed something against quincies that can be used by any captain or any shinigami.
I think he is just waiting for some damage to prove some point before presenting his invention.

i would drop my jaw if hikifune turns out to be a member of stern ritter members for a special mission by royal guards to observe the ranks of Vanden reich.

I wasn't even thinking in that direction but damn, yeah, that would be amazing. She'd fit in with the likes of Yoruichi and Soifon as well.

Although I'm still in the "Royal Guard doesn't do crap," mindset. Ever since the Aizen and Hueco Mundo Arcs. But then again, the Vandenreich has a history with Soul Society and Yamamoto so I suppose it's possible there is a spy in their ranks.

Where do you get this "2 years left" info? I remember that after Aizen, we've been through half of Bleach according to Kubo.

Repeat & Reboot basically comfirms that SS will now be destroyed, then Sq 0 will make their appearance, and then, probably, the remaining shinigami + RG will fight back, either conquering SS again or attacking the Ice Palace (Kubo said that would be the next battlefield yet it hasn't begun yet).
The Closing Chapter most likely refers to the destruction of SS, but that's nowhere near end. Don't forget there's another zillion things to be explained.

I'm still pretty sure we're in for another at least 3, 4 years.

i wonder how will shinigami correct balance of souls while soul society losing souls, and there were a limited amount of hollows in HM. no matter the consequence of this war, even if shinigamis win, the balance would be unreparably damaged. so soul society will be in great trouble in all possible ways unless royal guards or sentient Vasto lordes show up to save the day. Vasto lordes may be hollow counter part of royal guards protecting supreme hollow king and do not interfere with lives of low lives like shinigami and hollows. there may be a war between royal guards and vasto lordes, in a completely seperate realm unreachable to both soul society, hueco mundo and vanden reich. if the balance is destroyed not only the realms we know will merge, but also realms of royal guard vs vasto lordes. and the war between the latter may destroy the known worlds.

i have another idea, all strong shinigamis will undergo dangai training before joining the war between VLs and royal guards. this way, we will learn their inner worlds, how their zans really look like, full potential of them with bankai and availibity of final attacks.

if your theory is true, bleach will not end with this arc. The idea of an untold war somewhere far far away may be possible, but doesnt fit into the current story properly, unless kubo the.....

i do know that my theory does not hold ground in current story. i thought that we don't know what royal guards do and where were the vasto lordes aizen seeked for many years. and i come up with my story. on soul balance i am sure that it will be destroyed with this war for good.

i do know that my theory does not hold ground in current story. i thought that we don't know what royal guards do and where were the vasto lordes aizen seeked for many years. and i come up with my story. on soul balance i am sure that it will be destroyed with this war for good.

yea i agree with you, the RG are recruited based on a special trait or strength that is never specified, being the best squad in the world just what in the world do they do?! I also agree that ruining the soul balance would make for an interesting story, i just hope that RG wont be used as some sort of plot device that fixes all the problems of everyone

I was thinking more of a reishi absorption device that shinigami can use, mayuri hasnt been killing and dissecting quincies for the past century for nothin'
During his fight with Ishida he was intrigued by how quincies are able to use haxx skills like the heavenly puppet, or forcefully subjugating reishi. Surely he's learnt something from planting ishida with surveillence parasites...

I'm predicting Yamamoto's death here and with his dying strength he will somehow find a way to contact the Royal Guard or perhaps his death is a failsafe of some sort for alerting the Emperor and the Guard.

The other possibility lies with Ichigo. He still has a lot of backhistory that Kubo has to explain and maybe something to do with his past will be the plot device to bring in the Royal Guard. And of course, there is still the mystery surrounding Urahara, Isshin, and Uryuu's dad (Ryuken or something). I know there were theories going around before that Isshin is somehow connected to the Royal Guard.

I'd agree with that, i mean it would make the whole "why didn't the royal guard intervene with azien?" Question an answered one. But i can see a back to the pendulum arc or something similar to show the lose ends before the Royal Guard appear

The truth is, we will not see anyone else do the post dangai training. Ichigo got it because of Aizen destroying the security system. We can have people visit their inner world with Bankai and train them to their utmost potential. I think Byakuya has already done it. I forgot the actual term, but do you remember when he went Haireken (I think that is what it is called), that dope form he has that even amazed Ichigo when the two fought each other? IDK. Just thinking the next chapter is going to have some more casualties [possibly a captain going down. Komamura anyone?]. Then SS will be shown fighting back.

LOL,yeah: the royal guard! since akon is sure that SS will crash,it means that the 0th squad will join the war quite soon,although I doubt that the captains' bankai won't work...

Ok, here is a crackpot theory. As we have seen the gotei 13 ultimately is an organization which serves the king. The king as we know holds reality or something together and whatnot which is mildly important to everyone in bleachverse. Then we have the quincy who are polar opposite to the shinigami. Shinigami represent eastern afterlife and whatnot, quincy represent western afterlife so far with their hell bent determination to purify and punish and their crosses. Quincy weak white, shinigaim wear black. Shinigami use close range combat and use their inner strength, quincy use long range combat and take power from the outside. The shinigami have a king and the quincy have a... emperor? What if their ultimate goal is to place buckbeard as the king so that he would change reality to something more akin to their values? Something which would allow them to punish hollows by condemning them to a fate perhaps not actually worst than hell, non existence. This would perhaps explain the previous chapter on why this is a war, because they are merely fighting because their moral codes are hopelessly incompatible.

Other than the obvious reason that quincies hate shinigami, there may indeed be another motive behind this attack which is to force Royal Guards to come to SS, leaving Soul King's dimension unprotected. It wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that VR leader is planning to overthrow the Soul King, shinigami will be fighting them as long as Soul King is in power. I guess there're other ways to maintain the balance, I still find it hard to believe that VR is trying to destroy all the dimensions. Quincies are the antithesis of shinigami and it's likely that they have their own way of keeping the balance in check but I guess Soul King has to be destroyed first for that to happen.

Thing that strikes me is how relentless they are being, SR's have only just turned up and it already looks as if they killed Kira(think that's his name) i mean yeah okay its a war but kibo has shown us just by that attack that actually anything could happen this arc, plus i have a serious substitution that these quincies aren't your normal human quincies like the Ishdia's, okay that is kind of a obvious thing but WTH are they if their not humans, i seriously doubt their modified humans, as that would be boring, i just hope there's a really good story and point to all this
