I wonder if the reason the Quincy's can't absorb Ichigo's bankai is because they can't absorb reishi from other Quincies...

I'm starting to think that the King killed Luders and Ivan by ripping them apart using the reiatsu manipulation ability, similiar to what Kirge did with Sklaverei. Also I hope Kubo uses this opportunity to show off some of the captains that get less screentime.....not really that interested in seeing Soifon or Toshiro fight. Ukitake,Unohana, any of the vizards or a Bankai from Shunsui would be nice. I expect Komamura to get destroyed soon. I'm wondering if we'll finally see Byakuya or Kenpachi suffer a loss to someone other than Ichigo. By the way, to the people that think Mayuri might die, I actually think theres an extremely low chance he will die, because Mayuri and Aizen are Kubos two favorite male characters to draw according to an interview from some time ago.

komamura is surely among the ones to be destroyed first, if not he is the first. his bankai has overwhelimng power but at the same time the greatest weakness. if his bankai gets damaged, komamura gets damaged too. as his bankai is so huge, it is not difficult for quincies to pin him down

what about the title of this chapter??? is the story really about to end? I know that this title will last more than Deicide,whose chapters were 23, but it'd be too little nonetheless! I expected this arc to last...uhm...7-8 volumes,not 4-5.

Matt, I don't think this is the end just yet, and I don't think Kubo will do a year-and-a-half (he said he has two years' plans for Bleach, then end, right?) of the same chapter title. What I do think will happen is we will continue with this chapter-series until Soul Society is destroyed.

On captain deaths: they're gonna happen. They need to, to keep us emotionally involved in the story, and Kubo has demonstrated already that he's willing to kill off some people this arc. My vote goes for Soi Fon, since her death would bring Yoruichi into SS again, and would make Yoruichi involved in what is going on, which we haven't seen since the original soul society arc. Needless to say, I really like Yoruichi

I don't want Komamura to die, though if anyone gets the axe it should probably be him. There is so much that can be done with his character! His companion has been lost! How did he take solace! What about Komamura's own sense of justice!? Has that been changed? How come he has so little interaction with Ichigo (because plot-kai says he's useless, I know)? AND WHERE THE HELL DOES A WOLF-PERSON COME FROM?

Hopefully, Komamura will have become a little emo as per Hitsugaya after the death of...lol I forgot his name. Hopefully, he will have figured out how to manifest his bankai on himself, because that would just look awesome. Hopefully, he won't get the axe.

But with only two years of this arc remaining, I don't see us getting many back stories on characters. Page-space is pricey, especially when you have entire pages of just art, and if Kubo has to choose between developing Komamura (or any other captain), giving them a one-page "Oh, yeah, I've powered up in the past ~17+ months," and killing them off for instant plot development, my vote is to let the beast die.

matt's reply does make sense. Before this arc, Aizen was the strongest or the ultimate bad guy. Aiming to beat was just natural for Renji. In Kira case, he was outdone by a surprise attack. It does not mean he was really a weakling. I do believe, the Quincy group appeared are stronger than VCs, or perhaps some of the VCs.

i hope each of the star knights has unique fighting styles, otherwise seing captains against similar long range fighters would be a little boring. i wonder the bodies in szayel lab were quincies, who were sent as spies to HM.

now if u look carefully the guy on the right is wearing a hakama, and the woman next to him is actually taller, VRs dun wear those. The only people i can think of are chiruchi, gantenbein and don panini, but don panini and gantenbein werent wearing hakamas, they wore tights. So for now we have no clue on who they are

I wonder how the shinigami will go about actually winning the war. The thing about quincies absorbing energy also means that anywhere but the real world is basically their home field. As quincy fight by using energy from outside I think it is safe to assume they do not tire quite as fast as someone using their own power. Heck, the holy or final form actually seems to push them to their limit and does the work of absorbing power for them. I wonder if the shinigami can pull of something like what they did against aizen during the war but the opposite. Instead of fighting in SS they build a replica of it and move it some remote real world location where they can fight the quincy without them having a reishi advantage. It would limit their base power to some extent and it would limit the power of the holy forms a decent bit. I wonder if a day is enough for the 12th division to pull this off or whether mayuri already did so when he started suspecting a quincy war back when ishida first met him.
