Ignore how the volume numbers work out.

The arcs work out like this:

SAO: Volume 1
ALO: Volumes 3-4
GGO: Volumes 5-6
UW: Volumes 9-present

Volume 7 is a long story taking place in ALO, but it's not exactly ALO.

Oh, I'm obsessed with orderliness so I'll keep on going following the number. I think I'll finish all the volumes tomorrow or the day after; so I think it won't be any problem.

In a way, yes, it is a bit odd. The title arc of the LN doesn't take up that much of the series. It's still longer than the two ALO volumes, iirc, but it could've been longer. At times, GGO gets a bit preposterous, which is the problem. There are underpinnings connecting SAO to GGO and then to the start of UW, but it's weak at best.

Well, I think this is the reason why the author writes a lot of SAO side stories. There must have been a lot of demands from fans to write more SAO stories.

Probably, plus it fleshes out the SAO story as a whole. I would've preferred if we had seen more floor climbing in SAO, but not done in a tedious manner as can be seen in ToG.

ToG? What's that? Oh, and I just read "There is but one ultimate way" yesterday and I have to say if the series will end like that, I think I will be reluctant to read the last book. I actually jawdropped and I wonder if UW arc will end like that.

Doubtful, if there's anything to judge the ending off of, it would be the web version. This is but one ultimate facepalm was confirmed to not be canon IIRC. I couldn't give you a source on that if I wanted to though since that was hearsay.

Yeah, I never read the web version, but as far as I know, One Ultimate Way is not canon.

Oh, right, sorry about that. ToG is Tower of God, a manhwa about climbing a tower. It's better than it sounds though. It's really about the interactions between characters as they take "tests." MH has a ToG subforum and everything.
