I've been wondering about something...it's true that the reason why Ichigo's Bankai couldn't be stolen might be because he's also got Hollow powers or maybe because "he's that special" but what if the reason resides in Ichigo's mother? I can't really say for sure but didn't the manga say that Ichigo's mother had an interesting/powerfull reiatsu and that was the reason why that specific Hollow went after her? What if she was a Quincy and Ichigo also has part Quincy powers and that's the only reason his Bankai couldn't be stolen?

Maybe that's why Ichigo's father and Ishida's father know each other, maybe they have some "ancient history" together that involves Ichigo's mother. I might be saying something very foolish(some parts of Bleach seem already a bit distant in my mind) but it's just something that came to my mind.

Ichigo is "that special" and Aizen knows it and it has nothing to do with his Hollow powers. I don't think Masaki was a Quincy but a Shinigami for sure, she saw right through Grand Fisher's deception. Remember what the Old man told Ichigo that Byakuya only destroyed Rukia's powers that were given to him but Ichigo has his own Shinigami powers hidden so deep within his soul and was awakened by Rukia's powers. I think that maybe one of the reasons why his Bankai could not be stolen because where it lies. Like his father, they both lost their Shinigami powers. Isshin got his powers back with time but Ichigo's powers were awakened again this time by all the Captains and their lieutenants of Soul Society.

on Dangai mode....i dunno....this seems like overkill if all the captains get trained to do it....the requirements seem to be FAR above what most of the captains can reach (at this time in their shinigami lives)....i think it would be lame if they all got that training.....another thing is that i dont think this is an enemy that requires such levels.....if this was an enemy that required THAT kind of level they wouldnt need all those stern ritters to take out SS trust me

i think the fact Ichigo was able to do it has more to do with Ichigo being IChigo than simply the training required

hell they wouldnt need to seal or steal anyone's bankais with that kind of power and the numbers on top of it

i'd hate for it to become like the oh so rare Bankai, that suddenly became available to all....

You may be right. Besides Isshin, Ichigo and maybe Aizen, if there are no other Soul Reapers who have not mastered Dangai mode, then this arc sucks.

I still fully believe that it is due to ichigo making his soul once more complete, Zanpaktu's are a separate entity but they are not a separate soul if you know what i mean

This week's chapter was good. I think all Vaizard Captain's should have their hollow sides which should help them fight with the Quincy's better than the normal Shinigami's. So the bunch of Vaizard's will be the ones who would be the key to holding of the Quincy's as long as is required. Kenpachi and his squad Eleventh Division who despise using their Bankai would be one bunch which also has the best chance, since they had fought many war with just using their sword skills for the sake of honour. So they should be able to hold their ground probably they might have to go Shikai to fight them.
All other Shinigami's may not have a good chance, even though all the Senior Captain Yamamato,Unohona,Shunshui and Ukitake might be able to hold off even without their Bankai's since they are one of the most powerful and have more war experience than any others.

is that old quincy guy already using his vollstandig or can he switch it on and off? if its the latter then these guys are almost certainly gonna carry this fight...at least for now....secondly do quincy at these levels get exhausted in battle...i ask since what i got from my understanding of reishi absorption is that they can replenish themselves and keep on fighting...next week can't come first enough

i think the same kubo said before this arc we would learn about her past and more about her death like if there was more to her i would not be surprised if she was related to ishidas father liker her sister or something.

Ichigo's mother might be a quincy as everyone suggested or might be a normal human with high spiritual pressure who can potentially become a quincy. But i think she is not a quincy, she might probably be similar to Inoue and she may be related to Ishida's father. But i would like her to be human. So that Ichigo could learn Quincy powers from Ishida and his father.
I beleive the most powerful person would be one who is a combo of Human+Quincy+Hollow+Fullbringer+Shinigami since these are the variety of powers available. So ichigo is the only one who could acheive this very fast.
I feel that Inoue and Chad should learn some Quincy techniques too, since they are humans with high reiatsu this could bring some intersting additional powers to their arsenal.

Thing with this theory of Ichigo's mother being quincy it would suggest that his sister's would too be able to become exactly like him, no?

There is no evidence to suggest that the other captains have achieved that level of bond that ichigo and zangetsu has.
The only one that may have a possibility is yamaomot and perhaps the seniors

That is most likely the case.
With teh 2nd in commnad around yama's level and the leader stronger than yama

but if aizen was sure to be able to kill him,I doubt the king is stronger than yama,he must have some interesting abilities which allow him to do something which yama can't do. in fact yama was said TO RULE OVER SS,to possess the key and he needs it to protect the king. the 0th squad has to protect the king too,that's why those captains are at shunsui's level,but weaker than yama,imo.especially since BB shouldn't be stronger than yamamoto,who'd need a king even stronger?

I wonder how it's going to play out if they try and steal Mayuri Kurotsuchi bankai. We've seen what happens when it got stolen by the scientist espada. If the quincy makes it part of their own power and absorb them, Mayuri Kurotsuchi will be able to make anyone foolish enough explode.

I want to believe this, but after seeing how they got manhandled in FKT, I don't have too much hope for them being able to do too much. They were so overlyhyped only to have Kubo troll us. I don't think anyone we've seen yet will be able to deal a lot of damage to these quincies. Not without some kind of major upgrade.

Resorting to holy form against a shikai leads me to believe that Sternritter don't have much chance against bankais, especially of senior captains. Perhaps this is why they didn't attack SS until they devised a method to steal bankais, I guess they had a pretty good idea that the odds would otherwise be against them. Ichigo is busy with Quilge in HM, I don't know how he can make it in time, it's a good idea to inform Urahara, Isshin and Yoruichi about the situation though, SS needs all the manpower they can get. I wonder if Yamamoto is going to the place where VR leader is or he has another plan in mind. If SS will lose, who will save the captains who are fighting now? I don't think VR will have pity on them but I don't see them dying either, I wonder how things will turn out.

Actually the exact opposite would be true. If Shunsui ditched his captains robe and called out white then damage would be minimal since he'd have next to no white on him. Against someone with a gun the game would become an amusing game of target practice.

I'm hoping that these fights bring about some good teamwork tactics from the Captain-VC pairs that are still intact. Even for the teams that have been impaired there is a chance there could still be a chance for some nice kido or hand-to-hand combat tag teaming.
