It´s a great sport-manga. Good Characters, very good story plot and nice Tennis-action.
If you really like PoT or "Smash!", then you will love "Baby Steps".
Chapter 56 is out
Nice match till now, I hope that E-chan will success and win the match. But now it is a little impossible, but hwo knows ?^^

Nobody else is reading this great tennis-manga ?
I read Baby Steps! I discovered it over a year ago, but because translations weren't caught up, I bought all the available volumes at the time from Amazon Japan XD One of my favourite manga of all time. I especially love E-chan and Nacchan. <3
it's been fast lately.
This USA arc was one of the best.
Anyway, new chapter is out
It's better 3 a week than 5. It'll give their people time to rest ^^;; Anyways, I'm glad they're up to Alex and E-chan's final match together. It is one of my favourite matches in the whole series, even more so than some of the other matches later on.
I tried to read it & I can understand the lack of attention it received so far on mangahelpers. The author wanted to do a 'realistic' manga which means that characters are a little too plain & it's also a little too serious. It lacks comedy.
It's weird: PoT is IMO too unrealistic & Baby Steps is too realistic.
Baby steps seems to be more for Tennis fans than for manga addicts.

Hmmm, there is some comedy in how serious E-chan is. Like when Ike-kun says that he and Nacchan are engaged and there's a match later on in the series where E-chan plays against a player who is like the shujinko of a shounen manga. He's got cookie-cutter friends, he gets delayed because he was helping an old lady if I'm remembering correctly, and his style of play is that he becomes really strong when he is on the ropes which is why all his matches are really close. I thought it was really funny when this guy appeared because he was so typical of shounen manga XD
