Description: Inside of every human lie dormant superpowers. When these powers are awakened, some people use them for evil. Others use their power to stop those who commit evil deeds. One cruel boy named Hiruko has taken over his high school by using his superpowers. The students live in fear of him, until the day a mysterious transfer student, with his arm wrapped in a giant cast, arrives to stop him.
This first chapter wasn't that great imo, the story telling was way too slow for my liking. The whole thing could have been wrapped up faster. I did like the premise though, and the story and characters were interesting to me. It has some potential, I'm hoping the second chapter is good, can't wait.
The first chapter was scanlated by iMangaScans and another group whose name I'm forgetting.
You can read it here.
Chapter one did not impress, it seemed to be missing something so basic in good manga that I can not actually give it a name. The humor was not funny, the characters were broad Jump stereotypes. It does not even feel like basic plot elements have been established, most of the chapter was a comedy about the main character writing manga for Jump, when the series itself seems like it will be a supernatural/fighting manga.
Characters are bland with no personalities and if than it's pure stereotypes. The plot induces stupidity, waiting for him to mention the family instead of knocking the punk out instantly to stop beating the rest of the body, can't say I enjoy something like that anymore. The mangaka put to much effort into the last page, showing the details of the shoe, marbleiseing the stones, he/she should have put more effort into the rest of the first chapter Imo.
it's cruel of the editors to publish a series just for the sake of offering it as a scapegoat for all the other new series. what did they think by publishing this? is there a need of a bakuman meets beelzebub setting that desperately? my words are harsh but i just don't believe that it will survive long.
Maybe interesting was the wrong word for the characters. xD I meant that they were okay but reading the comments ive noticed they really are too stereotypical. I didnt like how the author used becoming a mangaka as "comedy", it wasn't funny and it's pretty pointless. There were way too many things going on that wasted 50 pages, becoming a mangaka, sports, fighting, yankees, and the list goes on. Does it really need ALL that? It'll be hard for the author to bounce back, but he definitely needs to get rid of the wasted plots.
I wouldn't be surprised if this got cancelled early, but at least it'll be in the way of other mangas not getting cancelled. (guilty pleasures)
Whoa I don't see the reason for all the negative comments. I really liked the 1st chapter personally. But thats just me. I'm more interested in how these Divine gifts are going to work and who will have the most broken one. Can't wait to meet the first major villain either.
Honestly the first chapter felt like a caricature of a Jump manga. With the characters giving direct narration about the story while essentially staring at the reader, I almost thought the author was being painfully stereotypical on purpose...either way I probably won't read enough to find out.
I can't help but think Jump felt emasculated after serializing a bunch of romance titles, and thought this was the best "boyish" title to balance it out or something. Oh Jump.
FUKING AWESOME. I don`t know why but this manga is AWESOME!! It look`s like manga from the 90`s.
Honestly, chapter two was considerably better than chapter one. I won't call it great but it is at least as good as other recent action manga.
I almost feel exactly the same Kaiten. I still find it unbelievably cheesy but I'm starting to enjoy that. But I still can't stop laughing at the oddly high number of "bad manga in Jump" jokes that are made.
"But if you leave now [to save your friends lives], you'll never finish your manuscript in time!"
I actually thought it was kind of funny when the yanki started following him around.
