Some questions were about Japanese; I was tempted to try but then I could only answer Asarii's first question, haha~ I almost failed in that; I started to forget my Japanese lessons. Argh.

I gave up on another languages. XD

The 'history' part os very interesting, though! That sounds... real.

Thanks so much for submitting multi-language Q&As. I only speak 2 languages, but I enjoyed reading all of them. For example, I translated back and forth (ENG>Portuguese, P>ENG) the Portuguese Q&A by Asclepius using an online translation program. I am not actually going to learn the language, but it was fun. The only one that I could answer from Charlie's Korean questions was how to say hello. Lingala(DR Congo) by goldb - I have no clue, but the language sounds like Japanese. I think I can be fluent in Lingala if I put my effors. Number 5 in Lingala is 見たの(I saw/ Did you see in female JP speech). If I change b to P, it's 散歩（sanpo: taking a walk）. I think I like the language already. Then, I was excited to see igotthegoods's French questions since I learned the language at school for 2 years, but I failed all. From Josef K.'s Macedonian Q&As, I learned the most important word: manga. Oh, Kaiten~ I didn't know that you knew Arabic language. It was very cool. From poetic M3J's question, I found the structural grammar between English and Hindi almost identical!~. That was a discovery. From naruto-niichan's German questions, I recognized "Good morning." Among all the Japanese Q&As (by Asari, benelori, c_k, DrPepperPro, njt, phio_chan, Sama_al_Azraq, and serizawa) I must say that I struggled with Sama_al_Azraq's questions the most. I actually cheated. One thing that I wanted to add to serizawa-san's post was: the word 4) skinship can be casually used between parents and their children, owners and pets, among friends and more. Thank you everyone, and I hope MH members also enjoyed this special multi-language Q&As to celebrate the MH's birthday as much as I did.

Yep, my language is very similar to japanese; off the top of my head I can't think of exact words but I know there are many similar ones. Even my last name(Kimoto) sounds japanese. I think there's even a japanese meaning for it

Yeah it does it a bit, can't think of anything right now but I do know that I noticed similarities. Same with Swahili too

Habari? (How are you ? is one of the few Swahili words that I know.) You are right about Swahili. It's also interesting to read articles about language history. Loan words are the majority in English language for example. Knowing that Japanese is nothing to do with Lingala and Swahili, it is still amusing to hear the phonetic similarities.

Answer:

(a) "Shochuu omimai moushiagemasu" is used in July. (b) Zansho omimai moushiagemasu is generally used after August 7th to early (perhaps the first week of) September.

Great, you wrote all in Kanji so members who can't read kanji couldn't even cheat . I am not surprised even if some Japanese people forget how to write (b) in kanji since it's often written in katakana these days.

July would have to be 暑中 because, well, 中. 残 seems more appropriate to late August or September in the northern hemisphere.

I may be wrong, but this goes for question 7.

A : We the summer greeting, should fit more in July, because it began the summer time.
B : The lingering summer heat should fit much better with July, because well its summer and it already begun.
Basically, the one that fits more should be A, because most summer began in July and this should be best for greeting.
