Translations: Gintama 515 (2)
Tatsuya Himekawa (Long Hair) - Shin Natsume of Tenjho Tenge
Mitsuteru Sakaki - Yu Kanda of D. Gray Man
Azusa Fujisaki - Lenalee Lee of D. Gray Man
Hiromichi Go - Gao Rikiya of Eyeshield21
This is a fun thread!
The most obvious example to me is Hilda and Momiji Bimboda from Binbougami ga!
Both are non-human women with blond hair and have bangs that completely cover one eye.
tojou nd grana? (psyren)
I can't believe it, but waaay way back I rereading a Bleach Omake, and you will not believe who I saw, in a random movie poster.
This was drawn in 2007, but it bares a strong resemblance, no?
THEY'RE OGA AND FURUICHI!!
Nice discovery Teeba
Its kind of a creepy coincidence, right? When I saw it I thought the same thing too, wtf are Oga and Furuichi doing in Bleach, on a movie poster no less?? And the publish date was somewhere in 2007, which adds to the twilight zone feel of it!
People have also commented that Hilda looks like Saber from the Fate/Stay franchise.
Well they look alike but not like those characters that Kubo drew.
Men, like Teeba said, it's a creepy coincidence.
I remember late last year, there was a oneshot created by Aimoto Shou of Hokenshitsu no Shinigami. It was called Rengoku and it was released in issue 3-4 of 2012. Oberon posted a snapshot of the cover page here.
When I looked through the oneshot, I found its synopsis to be quite similar to Beelzebub's, at least with the first few pages.
I've also noticed a few other similarities Rengoku might have with Beelzebub:
1. According to page 1, the main setting is a town where 68000 out of the town's population of 80000 are delinquents. The main protagonist also appears to have more than enough power to beat everyone up, kind of like how Oga can easily defeat any delinquent he comes across on the street.
2. The main protagonist wears a shirt that says "Ogre-kun", as seen in page 4.
3. A delinquent has a hairstyle resembling Himekawa's on page 6. Then again, it's possible the pompadour hairstyle is typical for Yankee delinquents.
4. On the same page, upon defeating his enemies from his rival high school, the main protagonist makes a pose similar to Oga's pose in the cover of chapter 1. The perspective of the drawing also resembles the chapter 1 cover too.
Throughout this past year, I've seen many people talk about a rumoured new serialization by Aimoto Shou, but they never seem to figure out what it could be. I've always thought they were unintentionally referring to Rengoku.
With almost a year since the oneshot was released, and the high potential for numerous WSJ series to get cancelled from the magazine, it seems like a perfect time for Rengoku to debut soon. What do you all think?
