First year the world got shocked when Ukranian team got the International 1 instead of the huge favorite, the Chinese iG (Invictus Gaming). You see, up until that point there was no debate that Asian Dota is best doto. Second year, TI2, it was again Ukranian team vs Chinese iG but the asian iG did take it, showing once again that Asian Dota is not to be trifled with.
This year, the Asian champions iG, are defending this title. Since dreamhack winter 2012, a Swedish team consisting of members that have been playing for around 8 years, have been dominating and are favorites.
You noob, Chinese Dota scene is one of the hugest, as a matter of fact the money in it is immense. If you're gonna troll by saying the inferior LoL is better than Dota, then at least do it properly, fool!
TL;DR: see bolded parts. Chinese/Asian dota is huge, "dood"
(and stop gang banging me guys, it hurts!)
NO KOREANS, NO WIN
Dota isn't released in China or South Korea yet Getting a beta invite is extremely difficult (any other region in the world it's out of beta now) but Valve have announced that pretty soon it'll be released.
Then both SOuth and North korea can join in!
It's in beta, meaning a limited amount of people got the game. They usually are seen matchmaking in the (among others) EU region (since it's an option...), where they together with the Russians come and don't talk/communicate xD (well, not all Russians, but many of them).
Obviously, all competitive teams, all commentators, many people who attend lan events get the game as well. Valve can't afford to not give these teams beta keys if they want to promote Dota 2, since China/Singapore etc have some of the biggest LAN / Online events.
Who cares, it'll always be inferior anyways
Plus, I heard something stupid. People don't even play ranged carries in the game or some nonsense.
Wtf xD That's like what I've heard about LoL, everyone just pushes his lane, no one groups together to push. Of the preliminaries I've watched 3 games today, in all 3 ranged carries were picked (Moon Queen, and in 2 games Gyrocopter).
That's another thing, Dota characters all have horrendous names...lol
And what people do in games sort of depends on their proficiency at it. The higher elo the game is, the more strategy will actually be display...usually.
Moon Queen = Luna, (nobody actually bothers with "the moon rider" ). Who cares about the names, I dislike both Dota and LoL names...
Pretty much HoN back in the day before Dota was announced was just porting heroes from Dota and renaming them / changing a few skills. Then as soon as Dota 2 got announced, Riot + Valve + S2 (HoN) went to court to settle that no one may steal from no one, and the golden age of Imbalance in HoN began ¨
Another very prominent ranged carry is Shadow Fiend. Unlike Luna he's actually fun to watch, especially when played by the best (Dendi etc.).
Thing is, many tmm'ers nowadays in Dota 2 (and especially in HoN) in the EU are tryhards, so they group up and push from the beginning, often turning the tide of the game. We call it the pub train.
Your mind just can't perceive its awesomeness
go watch your Tryndamere. I'll go enjoy clash of the Dota Titans!
As a guy who played DotA 1 for three years, the new DotA's overall design just looks too artificial for my eyes. I don't know why, but it seems DotA 2's character designs are something that I need to get used to for a while. Hell, even when I started LoL, I had pretty similar complaint, but at least now LoL is more familiar to my eyes.
