I'm trying, I will most likely start on Tuesday because that's when I have some free time.

I know it's mainly comedy so I'm not expecting fight after fight but it's good to know that there's epic stuff to come

MOST of the serious arcs are rather epic. Not all, but most. They usually last 4 episodes, but some of the better arcs last more. I think the Yoshiwara arc lasted 7 or 8 episodes.

Hopefully, the serious arcs matter the most to me. I really enjoyed Sket Dance's serious parts so yeah, if the same goes for Gintama that's a big plus

To be honest I look as much forward to the stand out comedy episodes as the serious arcs, unless it's one of those REALLY epic ones. The stand out comedy episodes where I find myself laughing my ass off are the best IMO, lol. Sometimes things that happen aren't even that good or funny per se, but INCREDIBLY random. When you're conscious about that it becomes hilarious simply because it's so out of the blue and random.

Well I'm someone who prefers serious parts anyway, I just need some plot development from time to time. That's not to say that I don't really enjoy the comedy but the first serious part is usually what gets me hooked and after that I can enjoy the comedy a lot more.

To be perfectly honest I cheated. I watched only like 20 episodes and then skipped the rest to watch the Banizakura arc

Of course I watched the episodes I skipped afterwards.

Just a warning from here as well - when I started back in the Rumble days I didn't find the first 15-20 episodes especially funny or good, but after that and the arcs with the kids that need help and the death note parody I was hooked =) So if you happen to not find as good as Nuno says then be patient, it'll be even better

Not really, I watched the arc because I was so hyped I couldn't wait, and Xiraiya told me as long as I know general info about the cast I should be fine.
