I'm only interested in the tvN production, hehe. I loved what tvN churned out for 2011 and 2012

I don´t know what genre you prefer other than romance but i seriously recommend TEN and at least a look into "All about my Romance". The former is pretty much the most creative K-Drama i have watched and that in an overdone genre like crime while the latter has one of the best actors in Korea as main lead.

I'm not into the mystery/thriller genre too much, so i wasn't interested in team 10. also not the lawyer/prosecution dramas. The only series I could finish watching was Hero, back in the day, but that was because it was Kimura Takuya, and because nothing led to the courtroom, since the mood was kind of sherlock-homesy.

I see, well, that´s a pity i guess. Then i would still recommend at least looking into "Queen of Office" and "All about my romance", though i don´t know if you can find the time.

Watched it with a friend. It´s pretty much a Shoujo/Josei mix in form of a drama. At first funny but in the end predictable + i really disliked the main lead but that´s just my personal opinion.

I've been dropping dramas like a hot potato left and right then finding myself watch the episodes anyway due to my dying curious of what happens next. It feeds my drama addiction!

Well, i made that experience particularly with weekend dramas that run for approx 50 episodes. They all begin kind of nicely but then become so boring while you are still interested what´s gonna happen with the characters. In those instances, i skip to the last episode and look how everything turned out.

but then in the end, they've achieved their purpose, right? as long as you keep watching they don't care what you feel? lol.

Tangent: On the contrary, netizens in Korea (or anywhere, really) hold a kind of social "power." I've seen all kinds of news articles and it's honestly kind of scary. Some people take it to a whole 'nother level.

You're right though; they don't care what I feel xD

I think I'll still watch dramas despite predictability (cliches)... o-o

Well, the trend shows that the dramas are slowly moving away from that, at least the ones produced by pay tv networks like OCN or tvN. The latter started a "Flower Boy" series which is like a Josei manga as TV series. OCN is famous for suspense, crime and thriller dramas that are almost or even at movie level.

OMG i'm totally loving Flower Boy Next Door!

I never expected Park Shin Hye to act so superbly with her character!

And as usual, I love how tvN kind of gets a bit real- let's start with the visuals, like how they set the apartments as opposed to the usual bright and neon-colored setups we usually see in most dramas. Or even the clothes they wear.

this was why I felt Flower Boy Band was close to being a Japanese drama because of the same close-to-home kind of vibe... since I think Japanese drama capture the daily grind exceptionally well.

    Re: The Asian Drama Thread

First of all, i have to agree about Park Shin-Hye´s performance. If i have to be honest, i did not expect such acting from her. I only saw her in Heartstrings and Cyrano Agency, she was mediocre in both. I thought she was really cute and adorable in this, she definitely sold the loner role. On the other hand, i neither liked the main guy nor did i like the overacting of the actor, it was just too much. On one hand, i support trying out new type of characters which both main leads were, on the other hand, this type of character was not to my taste at all. I was definitely rooting for the second main guy but that is always hopeless anyway. The entire ensemble was really good though, especially the webtoon editor. I really hope she gets a few more roles in the future.

I'm watching The Virus but not yet up to date. A thriller right from the beginning. I checked that series because of the main lead Uhm Ki Joon. Looking at how awesome he was on Dream High and Ghost, his play here is yet a different character from previous drama and I think he did well. The series itself is somehow similar to Bloody Monday. Lookin forward to see more.
