Tried the first chapter of High Score Girl. I can't judge it yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how the two mains' relationship plays out and there interactions.

EDIT: I also just tried Donyatsu. Kind of weird, but it is really easy to read and can be pretty funny.

Just finished Double Arts. What a shaaaaaaame. I shouldn't have started it. Like ever. It was just too promising. Hopefully it'll get continued in the future.

I recently bought The Strange Tale of Panorama Island. I've been anticipating this one for a while and it didn't disappoint. The story was above average for a one shot, pretty engaging, but nothing extraordinary. The art however, was amazing. Pure scenery porn. Definitely worth the wait.

Catched up with the Doubutsu no Kuni scanlations, pretty nice. There only are 8 chapters so far but damn, they made me look forward to the hopefully soon to come batch of new scanlations As usual, it seems Bessatsu never disappoints me.

Finished Nijigahara Holograph too, felt like the perfect choice to get an impression of Inio's manga. Pretty gloomy and bizarre but interesting and subtle. I found myself thinking about it quite a few times and even yet I'm not completely sure I got everything he wanted to deliver. Anyway, probably going to read more of his works in the future.

Currently reading Natsu no Zenjitsu, awesome so far. I feel like I haven't read such a good love story in ages and the art is absolutely gorgeous. Something I can recommend to everyone who's tired of your usual shoujo love story.

    i will say this

the HxH manga is sloppily drawn

the story is great, the characters are great

but togashi leaves alot left to be desired with the art in the manga

the 2011 version of the anime is EPIC, this is one of the few cases where the anime is BETTER than the manga

and because the manga is SO far ahead, the anime is FILLER FREE

i actually recently stopped reading the HXH manga myself

i decided i wanted to watch the anime instead

You should start reading the volume scans, they're a lot better than the magazine scans usually.

    Just one example:

    Magazine scan: http://www.mangareader.net/207-14197...apter-188.html

    Volume scan: http://mangafox.me/manga/hunter_x_hu...19/c188/3.html

I just finished Steel Ball Run. I have a few minor criticisms, but overall, it was an awesome reading experience.

Next I am going to start part 8 of JJBA, Jojolion.

I just finished part 4 of JJBA, Diamond Is Unbreakable. Pretty good stuff. Lots of cool powers and fights, as usual. Likeable cast of protagonists and a cool, but underused main villain.

I'm also in the middle of reading the first 16 volumes of Dragon Ball. I've seen the anime years ago, but never actually read the manga until now. It's very well paced and fun.

I read Molester Man the other day. Quite a fun read, but I don't see what the hype is all about. People are throwing 10/10s at it...... I don't get it.

Following that, I read Train Man today. Similiar manga, but with a lighter execution. Enjoyed it more than Molester Man, though it was less realistic.

Molester Man is such a wall of text at each chapter. I must say I put in on hold because of it. I'm currently reading sand stories a very beautiful shojo so far.

And on the nostalgic side, Maison Ikkoku. I didn't know when I watched the anime at that time that it was the same author as Ranma. But it's so obvious once you read them

I've been planning to read Birdmen, a new Manga by Yellow Tanabe. After the hyped short series a while ago, hopefully this series live to our expectation as well. Might want to give a thought or two after reading in its thread.

Just finished Ping Pong by Taiyou Matsumoto. As always with this author, I really liked it. His art style works also well with a sport serie and the matches are really impressive.

Re: What Are You Reading? What Do You Plan on Reading Next?

Last week I bought and read the last volume of Hadashi no Gen. And well...I was kinda underwhelmed. Of course, the stories were awful and there was lots I didn't know to this day like how exactly the bomb hurt the people. Still, I felt the drawings didn't do the story justice. Mostly the facial expressions were strange and I had trouble reading the feelings they were trying to express. And sometimes it was just a little too obvious...Like when they were talking to themselves "Oh the bomb was so bad it destroyed everything" x10. It couldn't have been any less obvious. I read in an interview that the author dislikes avant-garde manga because they were too sublte and didn't care if the reader understood their message, but man there's a limit. Too in-your-face for me. That's just one of those things that strike me as odd, though I guess most of it was normal at that time.
Anyhow, they kinda made it difficult to read, even though what the author tried to deliver was good. Just can't really agree with all those who call it a masterpiece.
