The back cover of the volumes says there are exclusive stories that were not adapted for animation from the Spirit Detective arc.
Even if there weren't differences I think it's nice to have both just because it's two different mediums.
YYH anime is better. It cuts out a lot of useless stuff Togashi wrote when he had no idea what direction to take the series.

Saw the latest episode (working from home sitting with the computer today :\ ) and have to say this is yet another 'budget' episode (I can recognize that Korean team's drawing style now, you can instantly tell it's a throwaway episode where they cut corners). Pity because I really love this part of the manga. The camera angles of the Troupe members discussing matters back and forth are economic and bland...always that 3/4 medium range ish framing that's all the same. The manga of these chapters are full of dynamic and tensions. Oh and that martial music at the end...yikes.
Killua and Gon's voice actresses turn out good performances though.
Edit: Just rewatched the episode again, I enjoyed it a lot more They packed in a lot of stuff pretty nicely, still a little breathing room (suspense building) would be better for the bantering and argument. Still it's a nice episode.

I just finished the latest HxH episode... ehh.. sorry to say but this episode was underwhelming. Nobunaga crying over Uvo, Gon smashing his hand and them escaping from Nobu wasn't as powerful as I thought it would have been. =/
But I'm HYPED !!!
Can't WAIT !!
Nice episode. I enjoyed Gon and Killua's interactions here. I wish MH ordered the scenes chronologically like other posters mentioned. Oh well.
MH... I didn't expect them to use the 1st OP's lyrics. I liked the new clip of the PT though (spoilers heheh).
Also, the preview...

Damn! the opening is practically the same thing... but the new scenes were nice.
As for the episode I thought it was pretty good. I think the arm wrestling scene, and Nobunaga crying could have been better. Now the escape scene was great! The tension was there, just like when I read it for the first time in the manga.

A drop in quality from last week but still a good episode especially for a "throwaway". I'd give it an 8 out of 10.
I'm 99.9% sure that's not the new opening. It's still the same song. They just changed one segment. I'm pretty either 51 or 52 the whole thing will change.
Loved Uvo trolling in the Opening
I have feeling we'll be seeing an all new opening when we start the G.I. arc.
The Facebook update from Han Megumi only mentioned that there'd be updated additional Troupe footage for the OP, which is what we just saw in episode 50. There's no announcement for a 'brand new OP" at all.
