Hisoka's part was a bit off as well.
Still, a pretty good episode. Maybe because I enjoy rewatching this part of YS again and again. 8.5/10.
My thoughts on this episode:
And I so want this gon pose as an emoticon here D:
maybe Killua too. (Killua = :mehwhatever, Gon = :approved)
They omitted some stuff that are pretty impotant, but I think some of them (like Hisoka not knowing Pakunoda's other ability) are fine being a secret from the audience in the meantime. When I read the manga, I honestly forgot she had another hidden ability until she finally used it. I thought the 'show and not tell' effect that resulted from my forgetting she had another ability was pretty awesome.
Anywho, I rewatched Hisoka's internal monologue explanation, and I didn't think it was that bad. True, the manga was better, but it would also throw me off as an anime watcher if the narrator suddenly talked in the middle of the show when I'm accustomed to him talking only at the beginning and end of an episode. I would personally think it would just seem off if he suddenly talked at that particular moment, and then never doing so again in the middle of any other episodes. I don't think it was awful; it's more the case of Madhouse doing a decent job, but the manga being so much more powerful and better due to having the narrator.
That being said, I'd say this was a good episode. We're finally starting my favorite part of the arc. I'm psyched for next week!
I'm literally crying right now..... I guess based on the ep 56 title we'll get extended scenes on this???Originally Posted by SHINOBI-03
the placements of the guards.... does that mean Machi is strong enough to guard Paku and Shizuku if ever???
and Kuroro shirt (I thought he gonna be caught by my Kura with no shirt... so much for my expectations....... looks plain and simple.... maybe I'm just used to yellow lines, but.... white or silver? lines??? what are they thinking....
and the missing data group, given that Togashi let us sneek at how they fight seriously during Chimera arc except for Kortopi... who do you think from these 3 will die??? I think Phinx or Kortopi are the one supposed to be dead...
In Shinobi-03's episode comparison, he remarked that Sphinx was joking about being in the no-data team. I wonder though: was he joking, or making an observation? It makes sense to isolate the non-datas with each other. Otherwise, the guys who do have prophecies and were specifically arranged to avoid them may be "undone" by the non-data group, who's destinies are unknown. Does this sort of make sense?
The groupings were otherwise presumably made intelligently. Let's see if we can figure out Danchou's thought process behind the allocation of the groups.
As for the narrator, he should have been used from day one.
There's definitely "hoomushikku" (homesick) in Franklin's lines. Can't read Phinx' lines tho. But scanlation was probably right.
In the next episode, I hope they keep
Is there any doubt about Machi strength? Really? She's a monster.
Anyway, good chapter. As always, I enjoyed Nobunaga's character more and more. He has become one of my faves due this version.
And transitional chapter. Next one is the one who made me love Melody.
IIRC, out of the girls in arm wrestling, Machi was the strongest. Not that arm wrestling is the greatest indicator of one's strength (don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting Machi's abilities or anything).
I can't wait to see the gang in action next week.
