Hungry joker is ranked since 3 weeks already.
Bleach ranks pretty well for one. It's been almost a year since it went that high. Otherwise it's kind of classic

Judging by the pics that kaze uploaded, isn't Koi Suru Edison the Cover Page as well?

Well, look at the timely difference between Zero's last edit to his posting and kaze's post. The TOC did not explicitly state which series got the cover and since there had been times in the past when a new series did not get the spot on the cover (mostly the case with Gag series, like Edison), he was probably just being cautious...

Pretty sure he will add the info later on. Otherwise I'll do so eventually.

(And yeah, that's Koi suru Edison on the cover. )

I usually don't bother with cover pages much so I may be misinformed but isn't the cover page the series on like the cover?

Like the first pic kaze uploaded has Koi Suru Edison's characters and around it has pictures of Luffy, Toriko and Naruto and it also has it stated that Shokugeki No Souma and Assassination Classroom are the colour pages of this issue. Isn't that the Cover Page? Or is it the Lead Colour Page? I mean isn't the Lead Colour Page jsut the first colour page in Jump? I wouldn't expect the Lead Colour Page to have information of other series printed upon it but I may be wrong.

What Mr Prince wants to say is that the serie on the cover is not always the serie ranking first in the TOC. nowadays it is like that 9 out of 10 (though in the past it was rather the opposite)

Ouch for Hungry Joker and Kiruko. I figured Hungry Joker wouldn't be able to stay above water for long, but I was sort of hopeful about it's survival. Could go back up but it's most likely a goner. Also really sad to see Cross Manage down so low. It's nothing amazing but it's a pretty enjoyable series, though I guess it's not really "JUMP" enough for the magazine's standards.

World Trigger sounds interesting though. Hopefully someone scans it or WSJ USA picks it up.

I'm not too sure if that'd be a good thing. The only series WSJ USA picks up just as they are released in Japan are ones that end up getting cancelled soon. Bulge and Takamagahara were cancelled less than 20 chapters in and Cross Manage isn't looking very well. Then again, maybe I'm speaking too soon. And maybe it's just a coincidence that all the more popular series WSJ USA avoid releasing happen to be too mature for Western audiences.

I also hope I'm wrong when I predict that WSJ USA may be choosing its series based on how likely they are to fail just so they can reach a quota for short stories on the magazine, the quota being there for marketing purposes or something.

That's pretty much a coincidence. Nisekoi is doing well and they got it.

Nisekoi was released in the US many weeks after it began in Japan, not like Bulge or Takamagahara which were released in the US at the same time as they were in Japan.

They tended to get what should do well in the US, action manga. There's not a relation whatsoever with the fail rate.

No, I just don't really follow the TOC and was confused by all the talk of the editors pimping Hungry Joker. It ranked in the middle of the magazine, 11th place in issue 8 and 9th in issue 9. While that's a respectable start for a new series, it's nothing spectacular, certainly nothing worth posting that the series was artificially high. There was talk that they were trying to protect it because it was an action series, even though it was only ranked in the middle.

No the artificial discussion comes from the fact that its first chapter ranked last in the polls (cf one of zerocomd earlier post) and it didn't appear in its first ranks which were rather in the middle
