I think the mangaka does better with his fun arcs instead of the serious one. The one about furiuchi and his "new gained powers" were great. The chapters of the recent arc instead feel rushed.

Woah you read my strikeout. I feel the same way, and I loved the Furuichi arc a lot too! I think the difficulty is that the Furuichi arc hit so many high points for me, it was inevitable the arc following it was going to disappoint. Oh well, here's hoping the arc ends soon.

Anyway, anyone else beginning to get the feeling that jump's quality is getting too good overall? Like that's an odd statement, but give or take a couple of series, there's nothing really condemnable on the TOC anymore. It's gonna make the next cancellation round painful, that's for sure.

You're right! :O I still think Jump could use another romance manga in there, somewhere.

gah i keep forgetting toc was for few chapters back. At least im happy kurogane has an increase in rankings. The mangaka is a tough one holding out from getting cancelled.

Last chapter of beelzebub was pretty hilarious. It is a funny parody of tournament arcs so far. Maybe not the best in beelzebub but I there has been worse too. The main problem of the serie is that the main plot is quite random.

Don't you think that One Piece will have a hard time to improve its figure again. A lot of people seem to agree that it will be difficult to find more fans to sell the old volume to and the old volumes sells were what explain One Piece big figures. I mean can One Piece gain more popularity than it already has ?

you r right about it....in japanese terms. unless japan has a population surge in the next 2 years it is unlikely OP will gain more than it has. but i tihink for some reason it doesnt sell abroad as well as it should. for example in new york times rankings the most crappiest arc volume of bleach stood for weeks but OP volumes just pops up in mid ground and then the next week it vanishes. naruto also does great in u.s. and europe. but OP is an anomaly in that it sells absurdly well in japan but not so much in other countries. there was even an article about this i read some time ago. (there is also ppl who read it online and doesnt bother to buy the actual volume.... )

It's the first serie in france now too. French volumes sells ranks have become uninteresting it's only one piece, naruto and fairy tail...

thou made me wonder i would have thought kami no shizuku would sell better in france (maybe silver spoon will get in ). in any case good news but i would imagine with france having a very good comics industry they wouldnt be as great a seller . i would imagine XIII gets more sales.

Kami no shizuku is a big hit but it's still a manga for adult so it can't really compare with the big shonen. And XIII is one of the biggest comic blockbusters. Still manga such as one piece or naruto sells much higher than regulars comics mainly because they are much cheaper so teenagers can buy it without difficulties.

Actually it isn't that difficult. People who start reading the series in the 90's are old now but buy the volumes without dropping it. That means that there is a 20 year gap to the current time in which 20 years of people reached a age to begin reading one piece. They may were 6 years old but now are old enough to reading it and buying the old stuff. So there will be new readers with each ongoing year without that many dropping it. The question is how they will get they copies. Buying them of just use the internet, because it's to old to be worth it in their mind? Don't know put potentially there are more readers to gain every year. Of course there won't be a "BOOM" Effect but it could rise steadily.

didnt know the price would change that much in france. usually they sell the same in u.s. and japan depending on the publisher as u know (or minute differences). this was good to learn. thank you. but still OP managed to outsell every1 handily . that is an anomaly. i just cant think it happens anywhere else.

I wonder if it'll still be on the Oricon charts by the time volume 2 gets released. That'll be interesting to see for sure.

I don't think we should be comparing AssClass to something like Death Note quite so soon. All that matters is that it is popular, and that popularity is enough to make Jump campaign it as aggressively as possible.
